Job Purpose

Support the Rewards Manager in  developing, maintaining and implementing a fair and contemporary rewards program in India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan in alignment with AkzoNobel global rewards philosophy and processes.

Key Accountabilities

  • To support the review, development and implementation of competitive and compelling local reward and benefit programs that are in line with the Global Reward Strategy that will attract, retain and motivate employees, as well as manage the reward policies, processes and procedures in line with Global guidelines.
  • Research, identify and manage harmonization proposals to align local business units to a common Country offering
  • Evaluate new and existing jobs based on Hay job evaluation method and aligning positions to the AkzoNobel grading structure and blueprints. Also act a focal point for Job Evaluations for any South East Asia region wide projects
  • Ensure market competitor analysis is carried out to attract and retain talent
  • Maintain market data and participate in pay and benefits surveys and enable access to current market pay data to support HR business partners and line managers
  • Manage the annual salary reviews with People Services Team and Global CoE Team
  • Manage the short term and long term incentives with People Services Team and Global CoE Team to ensure timely payout
  • Review and maintain relationships with external suppliers of employee benefits and develop other non-cash reward initiatives
  • Support HRBPs in the region in re-grading exercises, salary adjustments, retention proposals etc
  • Work very closely with People Services on all Rewards related processes
  • Able to provide input based on Market data or experience on best practices
  • Maintain awareness and analyze current and developing legislation/regulations affecting employee comp plans in India to determine the potential impact on the Group and its compensation structures
  • Driving – employee wellbeing program effectively – Conducting wellness sessions, EAP program
  • Employee Insurance – Review and ensure cost effective insurance solutions and timely renewals; also administering the programs to safeguard their effectiveness and sustainability
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures in addition to countries labor laws in relation to compensation and benefit

Key Activities

  • Conduct presentations and training related to Global and local compensation programs to ensure managers and employees understand applicable reward programs
  • In collaboration with the Reward Manager, support in planning and communicating updates and changes to benefit plans and programs in India
  • Support and Participate in regional & global rewards projects
  • Be familiar with all the applicable corporate policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct and HSE standards and acting in compliance with all applicable regulations


  • 5+ years  C&B experience with sound knowledge of best practices across all aspects of reward management and well versed with Hay Job evaluation method
  • Expertise in Microsoft packages, specifically Excel
  • Knowledge of Power BI tool will be an added advantage
