Technical Assistant 
£19,800 - £23,000 per annum depending on experience & benefits

With a qualification in Chemistry, such as an A level or HNC, you are looking to use your talents to develop a career in a company that can offer a long-term future and careers with breadth, depth of scope and impact. We are looking for a Technical Assistant to join our Regional R&D team to provide business support for EMEA region and to gain industrial experience via on-the-job learning. 


As Technical Assistant you will support activities on a range of projects. You could find yourself bringing new coatings products to manufacture for the first time, testing existing products and coating systems to solve quality or production problems, contributing to development projects, or helping to develop our fundamental understanding of new coating technologies so we can support manufacturing and achieve our long-term market goals. This is a diverse team working at the interface of laboratory chemistry, manufacturing facilities and end customers, and an excellent opportunity to gain a well-rounded experience of paint technology in one of the world’s leading coatings companies.


We will look to you to successfully plan and execute experiments to agreed timescales as well as interpret and report results. You will also ensure materials are stocked to ensure your projects be completed. Key will be the ability to work safely while following company procedures. The successful candidate will be committed to completing BCF modules and must have the required entry level qualifications (A Level in Chemistry or a Science subject, with Mathematics as a desirable attribute). You will also be good at following set processes and operating safely. You will demonstrate the ability to produce well-organised written communications, such as data findings and analytical reports and be organised and comfortable multitasking. Experience of working in a laboratory would be an advantage.
