Job Purpose

  • Meet and grow financial targets (Revenue, Volume, Margins)-25%
  • Customer Relationship Management-25%
  • Assist in paint selection & tinting services-20%
  • Merchandising and instore display – 20%
  • Price surveys and advice on orders- 10%

Key Accountabilities

Build solid relationships:


  • Provide a high customer service level by building / maintaining customer relationships (internal / external)
  • Assisting customers with colour selections using the Dulux Colour System.
  • Advising customers with their paint selection and tinting requirements.
  • Informing customers on the state of their orders.
  • Helping customers to load purchased items as required.
  • Conducting market surveys on pricing.


  • Preparation of Quotations as may be requested by customers.
  • Tinting paint bases and samples required by customers.
  • Assembling items as per customer orders.
  • Storage and safe keeping of all finished products and intermediates in the shop area.
  • Maintenance of good housekeeping standards within the shop and customer service unit areas.
  • Strict adherence to Akzo Nobel Health Safety Environment and Security requirements.                


  • Education: Min. O’level
  • Experience: Min. 1 year of sales experience in Paints or FMCG Industry
  • Basic Computer/Microsoft skills
  • Able to read and write English
  • Good Selling Skills
  • Good Communication skills, listening, probing and objection handling
  • Relationship building & management
  • Sales Process skills
  • Effective application of sales process & supporting tools
  • Business Knowledge
  • Product & application knowledge
  • Commercial understanding

  • Geographical Experience: Has been based in one country
