Job Purpose

To produce batches of product by manually loading raw material into vessels.
Major tasks:

  • Quality of batches
  • Delivery / production
  • Costing / Breakdowns
  • Quality & SHE

Key Accountabilities

Quality of Labelling

  • Implement 5S in the labelling area
  • Ensure that quantity, code and serial number on containers/bags correspond with batch cards issued.
  • Ensure batch numbers are correct before starting to label.
  • Report any discrepancies to Production Supervisor.
  • Label every container according to QA requirements.
  • Maintain the correct stock level of items to be labelled
  • Report non-conforming packaging to Production Supervisor.
  • Keep all non-conforming samples and mark them quarantine.
  • Dust off and clean all the containers before applying the sticker
  • Report stock level for stickers to Production Supervisor
  • Maintain hygiene of labelled containers

Delivery / production

  • Adhere to SOP’s for the operation of all equipment.
  • Ensure good quality of packaging and lids
  • Liaise with production to prepare material ahead of the shift
  • Ensure raw materials are always prepared for the next shift before the end of the shift.
  • Ensure samples are taken, send and received from QC Laboratory.

Costing / Breakdowns

  • Coordinate workflow to minimize batch cycle time.
  • Report all non-conforming packaging to Production Supervisor.
  • Clean all equipment and machine for maintenance.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all machines and equipment.
  • Switch-off all equipment, machines and lights after production to ensure cost savings.
  • Report all the water leakages on time to Maintenance Department

Quality & SHE

  • Ensure specified PPE are always worn.
  • Clean work station during and at the end of the shift.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 systems and procedures and ensure compliance and effectiveness
  • Raise nearmiss on weekly basis.
  • Report all the incidents and spillages on time to the HSE department.
  • Adhere to all HSE site rules and ensure compliance and effectiveness

Experience

  • Education: Min: O’Level
  • Experience: Ideally 5 Year experience in Paint Manufacturing
  • Min:      valid light motor vehicle licence
