Job Purpose

The GET Rotational Engineer is a 27-month rotational program. This position will expose you to exceptional professionals in the industry as you engage in key business projects and develop your career.  During the program, participants will have 3 diverse assignments lasting approximately 9 months each with business skills training and team collaboration sessions in between. Candidates are required to relocate three times during their tenure in the program and must be open to relocate to one of our manufacturing facilities anywhere in the United States.

Participants are engaged in a range of learning experiences including cross functional assignments, mentoring, assessments, and career planning and networking. These experiences are provided by rotating to various sites and through annual training programs offered only to those who are program participants.  These annual training events include networking opportunities with our executive leadership team and alumni of the program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops expertise in the rotational assignment at each location.
  • Independently completes progressively challenging project work.
  • Develops skills in leadership, data analysis and project management
  • Uses data analysis and problem-solving methodologies to maximize plant and equipment performance.
  • Deliver key manufacturing projects which involves defining requirements, preparing plans, allocating resources and project implementation in line with project management methods and techniques.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement projects to improve plant OEE and rate increases.
  • For capital projects, executes process studies, contributes to pre-projects and performs initial project scoping and business case development.
  • During project execution, plays a major role in commissioning, start-up and training, and then owning the technology for the site.
  • Contributes to site improvements and contributes to CI / ALPS projects.
  • Prepares, schedules, coordinates, and monitors the assigned engineering projects.
  • Tracks and controls project budgets and timelines to ensure project completion within the approved limits.
  • Developing strong leadership skills through the assignments.

  • Innovation to propose and develop continuous improvements which meet the needs of the Business Unit.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills to engage stakeholders and communicate ideas.

Job Requirements:

  • Engineering degree. Preferred degrees are Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering
  • Demonstrated research, coursework and or internships supporting academic excellence and teamwork.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through roles that carry responsibility and accountability.
  • MS Outlook required skills in Outlook, PP, MS Team and advanced Excel
  • Effective project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member
  • Willing and able to travel domestically as you will be given the opportunity to interface with all levels of employees at various AkzoNobel locations

Compensation Data:

The salary for these skills is: $75,000.00.
