Job Purpose

  • Develop and manage a 2-day production schedule based on customer orders, machine capacity, and material availability
  • Ensure smooth production operations by reviewing work orders and preparing all required production documents.
  • Monitor and update daily production schedules to meet customer expectations and support MTO targets.
  • Coordinate closely with Production Leaders and cross-functional teams (Customer Service, Technical, Supply Chain) to fulfill urgent orders and reduce lead times.
  • Track raw material availability, highlight shortages to the planning team, and schedule batches only when materials are available.
  • Collect production data, prepare reports, and support analysis for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor inventory of production equipment, safety items, and stationery while ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
  • Raise PRs for required production tools, materials, and stationery to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Maintain production schedule adherence reports (daily and monthly) and track pending or problem batches for timely action.
  • Act as secretary for key forums such as Tier-III and monthly commercial connects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the MPS/MRP process and resolve planning exceptions in alignment with IBP guidelines.
  • Develop and control master production planning at plant/cell level for daily, weekly, and 3-month horizons, ensuring adherence to capacity agreements.
  • Release production orders as per SITE agreements and regularly review schedule adherence to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage demand exceptions in coordination with the Production and Supply Planning Manager; support the Site Scheduler with visibility and analytical inputs when required.
  • Collaborate with the Demand Team to understand customer requirements and integrate them effectively into the production plan.
  • Lead gatekeeping meetings with cross-functional departments and provide relevant KPIs for performance measurement.
  • Balance service levels (OTIF), inventory targets (OWC), and manufacturing cost impacts while ensuring optimized planning decisions.
  • Manage reduction and prevention of slow-moving and obsolete stock, ensuring timely rework or scrapping at site/primary DC.
  • Contribute to inventory strategy by defining safety stock levels for existing, new, and phase-out products.
  • Ensure accuracy of master data and maintain proper housekeeping of all transactional planning data.
  • Support projects and continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance planning performance and overall efficiency.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or any other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Production/Supply Planning within FMCG, Paint/Coatings, or Retail industry.
  • Hands-on experience with Supply Planning in SAP and BI tools.
  • Strong result orientation with the ability to deliver against tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of identifying issues, conducting accurate analysis, and proposing effective recommendations.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong drive to challenge and improve the status quo.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
