Job Purpose

  • Ensure compliance with applicable chemical and product regulations across the product lifecycle.
  • Manage product safety documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), labels, and regulatory declarations.
  • Support business units by evaluating raw material data, monitoring regulatory changes, and providing product stewardship and regulatory compliance expertise.
  • Respond to product safety and chemical regulatory inquiries accurately and in a timely manner.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure compliance with local and international chemical, product safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate raw material, substance, and product regulatory data in SAP and other regulatory systems.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain Safety Data Sheets, Technical Data Sheets, product labels, and regulatory documentation.
  • Perform GHS hazard classification, product labelling, and transportation classification in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, assess business impact, and recommend appropriate compliance actions.
  • Verify and validate supplier documentation, including SDSs, composition data and regulatory declarations.
  • Prepare customer declarations, compliance statements, and product certification documents.
  • Respond to internal and external product safety and regulatory inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identify regulatory risks and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support cross-functional teams, including R&D, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Commercial, on regulatory compliance matters.
  • Coordinate external certification activities and regulatory submissions where required.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory processes.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and applicable legal requirements.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and training to internal stakeholders on product stewardship and chemical compliance.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Product Stewardship, Chemical Regulatory Affairs, Product Safety, or Regulatory Compliance.
  • Experience in the paints, coatings, chemicals, adhesives, specialty chemicals, or manufacturing industry.
  • Practical experience with GHS classification, SDS/TDS preparation, product labeling, and hazard communication.
  • Working knowledge of chemical regulations such as GHS, REACH, CLP, chemical inventories, and transportation classification.
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP/regulatory management systems.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Industrial Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Additional certifications in Product Stewardship, Chemical Regulations, or Regulatory Affairs will be an advantage.
