Job Purpose

  • Lead and manage engineering, maintenance, and capital project (CAPEX) activities.
  • Cover both site and off-site locations, including regional warehouse and sales offices.
  • Ensure asset integrity across all facilities.
  • Maintain plant reliability and availability.
  • Support achievement of production targets.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the engineering team and coordinate closely with Production and other stakeholders to predict, identify, and resolve issues related to asset integrity, plant and unit availability, reliability, quality, and efficiency.
  • Ensure effective implementation of and compliance with the Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
  • Act as a change leader for the company’s Paint the Future program by challenging the status quo and driving innovation.
  • Lead the projects team and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective planning, safe execution, and timely completion of projects and modifications within approved budgets.
  • Manage the plant modifications system to ensure optimal operational output while maintaining required control and governance standards.
  • Perform the role of Site Responsible Engineer (SRE) by ensuring compliance with Asset Integrity Guides (AIGs) and driving continuous improvement.
  • Implement company HSE policies, standards, and procedures to ensure sustainability and compliance with legislative and corporate requirements.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage CAPEX and revenue budgets to minimize operating expenditure and maximize returns on capital investment.
  • Manage engineering inventory in line with industry best practices by ensuring availability of insurance and critical spares while reducing overall inventory value to international benchmarks.
  • Ensure a robust predictive maintenance program is implemented to reduce unplanned breakdowns, production losses, high repair costs, and asset integrity risks.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and training to direct reports and team members to continuously enhance engineering and project capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a maintenance or engineering team member in a petrochemical, fertilizer, oil & gas, or large manufacturing plant.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a team leadership role within a process industry or large manufacturing facility, preferably involving hazardous substance handling.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, with strong knowledge of personnel management systems and best practices.
  • Sound knowledge and practical application of relevant international codes and standards, as well as engineering and maintenance best practices.
  • Practical exposure to engineering change management and project execution, including experience managing projects from conceptual design through commissioning and handover.
  • Demonstrated capability in planning, scheduling, budgeting, proposal development, and tender and contract development and administration.
  • Proven track record of working with Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) management systems.
