Job Purpose
- To support new product development, product improvement, value creation, and technical support activities in line with business objectives and development guidelines.
- To conduct laboratory testing, formulation development, process improvement, and customer support while ensuring compliance with HSE standards and quality requirements.
- To provide technical assistance to production, procurement, and sales teams for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities
- Support development of new products, product modifications, and value-added solutions.
- Conduct laboratory experiments, testing, and formulation trials.
- Propose improvements in formulations based on data analysis, benchmarking, and experimental results.
- Coordinate customer line trials and product validation activities.
- Develop and optimize colour formulations and approved product recipes.
- Investigate customer complaints and manufacturing issues through data analysis and root cause identification.
- Coordinate with QA, Production, and other technical teams for troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Implement countermeasures and monitor effectiveness to avoid recurrence of issues.
- Analyze SAP data and laboratory findings to support decision-making.
- Plan and execute laboratory work in compliance with HSE and laboratory procedures.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping and safety standards.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and experimental documentation.
- Ensure reliable, reproducible, and accurate testing results.
- Provide technical support to Production, Procurement, and Sales teams.
- Evaluate alternate raw materials for cost optimization and sustainability.
- Support process efficiency and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Assist in handling customer complaints and improving customer satisfaction.
- Support OEM and surface treatment product requirements.
- Manage formulation updates and recipe changes in SAP.
- Ensure formulation accuracy and suitability for production equipment and processes.
- Maintain proper technical records and development documentation.
- Implement HSE initiatives and comply with all safety procedures.
- Conduct HSES assessments related to raw material usage and product stewardship.
- Submit monthly HSE reports and ensure adherence to company safety policies.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Research & Development, Product Development, Laboratory Operations, or Technical Services in manufacturing/chemical/coating industry preferred.
- Experience in formulation development, raw material evaluation, and product testing.
- Knowledge of quality standards, laboratory practices and HSE procedures.
- Experience in handling customer complaints and process troubleshooting will be preferred.
Education
- Master’s or BS Degree in Chemistry from a recognized/reputed institute.
