Job Purpose

 

Colour match paint to meet a specified standard, ensuring accurate tinting, quality assessment, and consistent record-keeping to support customer and production requirements.

Responsibilities

 

Externally

  • Maintain good relationships with customers
  • Give professional technical advice to customers
  • Load and off-load paint for customers
  • Maintain good relationships with the local distribution team
  • Conduct site visits when required


Internally

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with all employees across all locations
  • Assist with cycle counts and stock takes
  • Perform other duties as instructed by management
  • Assist other teams during periods of high work volume
  • Provide administrative assistance to other teams

 

Core Duties

  • Tint batches to the required standard, comparing brush-outs and using computer prediction as needed
  • Prepare colour panels and conduct visual and computer checks against approved standards, taking corrective action when necessary
  • Pass or fail batches according to specified quality limits
  • Maintain test card and computer records for every batch tinted
  • Report non-conformances promptly to the immediate supervisor and relevant departmental heads
  • Maintain tinter stock: stock sheets, weekly stock checks, and verification against Sage 300
  • Plan daily tinter requirements and report stock shortages
  • Conduct equipment calibration per schedule and report non-conformances
  • Conduct bi-monthly colour standard audits
  • Maintain housekeeping and safety standards (NOSA requirements) and use appropriate PPE
  • Maintain quality records in line with ISO standards
  • Dispatch colour chips to customers and follow up telephonically on quotations and projects

Job Requirements

 

  • Diploma in Sales
  • 12-24 months of relevant experience
  • Computer literate
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective time management
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities
  • Excellent listening skills
