Territory & Travel

This role supports the Greater Vancouver Area, Lower Mainland, and Okanagan region, and requires up to 60% travel, including approximately 40% overnight travel, as well as occasional travel to the United States.

Total Compensation

  • Annual base Salary of $85,000.00 to $95,000.00
  • 15% Bonus based on personal and corporate performance.
  • Vehicle Allowance of $800/monthly + KM reimbursement

Job Purpose

As a Technical Consultant, you will deliver high-impact technical expertise and consultative services to customers across your assigned territory.  You will partner closely with Sales to support customer performance, optimize processes, and contribute to achieving sales and profitability targets. Acting as a trusted advisor to our customers and distributors, you will provide technical guidance, training, and solutions that drive customer success.  You will also support the development of technical training content and tools in close collaboration with the Sales team.

Autonomy & Impact

This role operates with a high degree of independence. You will manage your own schedule, customer engagements, and consulting activities, while providing expert guidance on AkzoNobel products and solutions.  Your insights will directly influence customer success, sales outcomes, and product or market strategies.

Key Activities

  • Deliver onsite and virtual consulting services across business performance, production, and marketing
  • Support large, strategic multi-site accounts with technical expertise and process improvement
  • Develop innovative consulting tools and customer-specific solutions
  • Deliver classroom and virtual training on brand-specific curriculum
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of training programs
  • Participate in the sales process (needs analysis, proposals, presentations, customer visits)
  • Support Mutual Action Plans and align technical activities with Sales, Distribution, and Collision Centers
  • Analyze performance metrics and recommend strategies to improve customer productivity
  • Represent AkzoNobel in industry associations and events
  • Contribute thought leadership through presentations, articles, and industry engagement
  • Mentor internal and external stakeholders on tools, processes, and best practices

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the vehicle refinishing / collision repair industry
  • Hands-on coating application experience, including spray application
  • Experience in a collision repair environment (automotive or truck refinish preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of spray equipment and application environments
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
