Job Purpose

 

Provides technical support and training on the use and application of company products, services, equipment and documentation. Supports the successful research and development of prototype materials and roll out of new product ranges.

Key Accountabilities

 

•    Gets familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct/HSE standards and acts in compliance with all their regulations
•    Promotes the positive company image and develops long-term relations with customers
•    Have the knowledge to troubleshoot and advise on PC products application
•    Performs site visits during products applications completing standard factual reports accurately and promptly; keeping a daily logbook of all site/project details
•    Proactively prevents and solves problems of a technical nature occurring at existing customers
•    Conducts and/or assists in the testing process as well as in the implementation of new products and technologies
•    Synchronizes own activities with all internal/external customers to ensure required stakeholders are involved in informed decision making
•    Maintains allocated technical company equipment in a safe and proper manner
•    Liaising between AkzoNobel, the owner’s representative and contractor being a technical mediator between different levels in the contract chain
•    Delivers training to customers on the use and application of the PC products, equipment and documentation both on-site at the customer’s location and within AkzoNobel training centers.  
•    Troubleshoot application issues at site and demonstrating the required application techniques to the application teams 
•    Completing standard factual reports accurately and promptly; keeping a daily logbook of all site/project details

Experience

 

•    Holder of minimum NACE / AMPP Level 1 or equivalent
•    Experience in Protective Coatings in the UAE.
•    Operates to the terms and conditions of employment of Akzo Nobel and within corporate guidelines at all times
•    Have excellent communication skills 
•    Be willing to travel at short notice for extended periods
•    Be organised and able to manage own time effectively
•    Be fully conversant with Microsoft
•    Candidates must be able to use a computer and be competent in Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications
•    Candidates should have sufficient computer literacy to be able to use AkzoNobel in-house systems
•    Fluency in English is essential
•    Driving License is essential
