Job Purpose

The Tint Room Technician supports business operations by operating the Chromascan tinting system to colour coatings for the Marine & Protective Coatings business while ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of orders. This role is responsible for maintaining tint room equipment, inventory, and records, promoting a safe and efficient work environment, and providing backup support to Warehouse Operations when required.

  • Job Location:  Dorval, QC
  • Hours of Work:   Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, occaisional overtime

Total Compensation Package

  • Starting wage: $23 to $25 per hour
  • Annual Short-Term Incentive Bonus: 4% of salary, based on company and individual performance

Key Responsibilities

    Production & Customer Service

  • Produce accurate, high-quality tinted coatings in a timely manner
  • Prepare and deliver completed orders to the warehouse 
  • Pull products and materials from the warehouse as required while following inventory control procedures
  • Maintain accurate QC documentation, tint records, and order tracking files
  • Identify, quarantine, and report defective or non-conforming products to local management promptly
  • Act as a back-up warehouse operator whenever needed

 

    Equipment & Inventory Management

  • Clean, refill, inspect, and maintain tint room equipment in accordance with established procedures
  • Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and support routine maintenance activities
  • Monitor and maintain tint room inventory levels, including colorants, tinting supplies, and consumables
  • Ensure work areas, tools, and materials are organized and properly maintained to support operational efficiency

 

    Health, Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, workplace organization (5S), and waste management practices
  • Follow all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Actively contribute to a safe and efficient work environment by identifying improvement opportunities and communicating them to the team and management
  • Participate in team meetings, training activities, and continuous improvement initiatives

Job Requirements

  • Flexible team player with the ability to occasionally work overtime as business needs require
  • 1–3 years of warehouse experience, including operating a forklift truck, as well as loading and unloading trucks
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email and Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP or other ERP systems is considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately pick orders and tint products according to formulas and color standards (training will be provided
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English; must have basic French language skills while fully bilingual (English/French) is preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to accurately distinguish colors for tinting tasks.
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs (23 kg) or more
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and reaching
