Qualifications

  • Graduated from the chemical engineering departments of universities,
  • 5+ years of experience in R&D departments, preferably in paint industry,
  • Knowledgeable and competent in reporting and analysis,
  • High planning and organization skills,
  • Advanced level written and spoken English knowledge,
  • Careful and attentive in following up and finalizing work,
  • Strong written and spoken communication,
  • Advanced presentation skills
  • High self-confidence and work discipline,
  • Excellent MS Excel Skills,
  • Competent statistical analysis methods,
  • Practical experiences with DoE,
  • Developed analytical thinking power and thinking outside the box,
  • Preferably an active SAP user,
  • Able to adapt to a busy work pace,
  • No travel restrictions, has a B class driver’s license, can actively drive,
  • Preferably completed military service for male candidates,
  • Able to reside in Kocaeli and Istanbul (Asia) region,
  • Strong interpersonal relationships, team-oriented, solution-focused, open to learning and development.

Job Description

The Product Development Lead is responsible for the execution of specific project phases or lab work request. This position will take a lead role in defining success criteria and goals for the project as well as execute the required operational laboratory work.

The Product Development Lead supports the goals of the business as directed by a team lead or manager. This position will oversee the work on technical workstreams such as new product introduction, raw material changes, product testing, and root cause analysis.

  • Maintains and promotes a safe work environment, complies with safety policies and procedures. Follows safe work practices for personal and equipment safety, in both the laboratory and in the field. End results are zero or minimum safety incidents and a clean, orderly working environment,
  • Works according to quality standards as set by lab management,
  • Sets up, plans, executes, analyzes, interprets, and reports experiments within own unit,
  • Takes ownership of delegated subjects and participates to projects,
  • May function as R&D representative in smaller cross functional development project teams,
  • Ensures execution and delivery of technical results according to the plan and established priorities,
  • Documents lab results through appropriate means including laboratory notebooks, interim and full reports, project meeting minutes, and monthly summaries. When visiting customers and or suppliers, writes reports with corresponding action items,
  • Keeps currently used methods up to date and ensures retention of knowledge through research reports,
  • Interacts with suppliers and customers,
  • Protection of AkzoNobel technologies (IP law, patent applications),
  • Functional guidance of technician / specialist level team members.
