Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- To be a Occupational Safety Expert – A Class
- Minimum 8 years of experience in HSE&S operations in manufacturing.
- Certified in ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, with experience in system implementation and audits.
- Strong knowledge of HSE&S procedures, risk assessments, and documentation management.
- Experience in HAZOP leading, SEVESO management and dangerous goods systems, behavior-based safety (BBS) and proactive risk mitigation.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
Job Description
- Oversee the entire Health, Safety, Environment & Security (HSE&S) process, influencing strategic decisions.
- Act as the Environmental Leader, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, managing permits, and reducing pollution risks.
- Maintain and improve ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems and conduct internal audits.
- Develop action plans to minimize workplace risks and implement preventive safety measures.
- Ensure alignment with AkzoNobel Corporate HSE&S standards and guide teams in compliance.
- Lead emergency management, business continuity, and change management processes.
- Conduct workplace inspections, safety training, and risk assessments while ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- Manage the budget for protective clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) and oversee its effective use.
- Keep up with regulatory changes and implement necessary measures to ensure compliance.
- Represent the company in external audits, inspections, and government agency interactions (e.g., Ministry of Environment, Labor & Social Security).
- Participate in global HSE&S audits and contribute to the company’s Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual HSE&S reports for senior management.
- Lead and support the waste management program and ensure proper disposal and recycling initiatives.
- Develop and execute process safety studies (HAZOP, HS, FA/IEA) and follow up on action items.
- Supervise the security team, ensuring the physical security of the facility.
- Coach and mentor the HSE&S team, monitoring performance and ensuring professional development.
