Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide 2nd level support within [Country/Cluster]. This role is dedicated to the specialty of training with the focus on design/localization and implementation of professional technical training courses in the Automotive Training Centers (ATC) and at customers’ sites. The trainings include the use and application of the products, latest processes in the bodyshop including equipment and color tools as well as other services, with the aim to expand business and to retain existing customers. The role is part of an EMEA network of trainers

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide as part of a team of Technical Service Specialists professional and effective 2nd level support in [Country/Cluster] focused on the area of training.
  • Participates in new product introduction projects by product testing and evaluation, technical guidance of market tests, localization of technical documentation and training sessions and well as their implementation with AkzoNobel staff and customers.
  • Ownership for Training Documentation in the country: design/localization, updating and implementation.
  • Contributes to customer requests/complaints that needs further evaluation by a 2nd level technician expertise (validation of complaints,..).
  • Runs autonomously professional trainings for existing and potential customers in the Automotive Training Centers and at customers’ sites in the use and application of products, latest processes in bodyshops, standard & special equipment, color tools, product related services as well as general and legal safety standards. This also applies to the training of the AkzoNobel field force as well as supporting the Technical Service Representative (Indirect Sales) with train the trainer sessions of the 3rd party field force.
  • Preparation and follow-up of technical training sessions.

Key Activities

  • Contributes to the training design projects of the EMEA trainer network.
  • Design/localization of technical training modules including trainer guide, handouts and overall presentation.
  • Provides the contents of the local training program as well the time schedule throughout the year in close alignment with the customer needs obtained by the field team and own observations.
  • Ownership for the ATC: health and safety standards, 5S, equipment inclusive the maintenance, mandatory audits and technical checks.
  • Reporting of customer related activities and complaints in CRM.
  • Regular reporting on training KPI’s (# of trainings and participants, utilization ATC etc.)
  • Delivers periodical progress reports including competitive activities and industry trends.
  • Promote the positive company reputation and develops long-term relations with customers. Hold and defend the values of the company.
  • Is familiar, complies with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regards to personal behavior / HSE standards and acts in compliance with all their regulations and enforces HSE rules at ATC locations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge & Work Experience – Paints & Coatings industry, car repair industry, 5-7 years of work experience in technical services and support and or in a bodyshop.
  • Paint professional qualification; preferably Master degree
  • Skills – Problem solving, stakeholder management, demonstrating value propositions with product application, communication and presentation, understanding of bodyshop business and workflows, IT skills (Color Tools, Microsoft office, CRM); English: Basic level (plus additional languages as eventually required by geographical area)
  • Native Italian language
  • Fluent English (oral and written)
  • Good Knowledge of Office (Word, Excel, SAP) systems
  • basic knowledge relating to health and safety matters under the current Italian legislation
