1. Purpose of the job

 

  • Developing and activating marketing strategies for the respective category for the Sri Lankan market to pursue organisations Market Share and revenue Goals
  • Working with the sales team to achieve Top line & Bottom Line targets
  • Keeping abreast of future Industry, Market & Consumer trends
  • Analysis, Compilation & Presentation of Relevant Data
  • Monitoring & keeping abreast of product related complaints to constantly improve customer service
  • Link with Global & Regional teams to leverage best practices for the respective category/s

 

 

2. Key responsibilities

 

  • Monitor Sales and gross margins
  • Develop and implement strategies for the respective category to ensure target achievement while building brand equity.
  • Conduct market visits with the sales team
  • Focus on the areas where competition is strong to penetrate into outlets and to drive sales.
  • Measure the output in the respective sales in the respective verticals.
  • Working with the R&DI team and the region to develop new products.
  • New product development and portfolio planning for the long and medium term
  • Ensuring accurate, timely implementation of projects
  • Develop, support and ensure adherence to work instructions, policies, procedures and practices pertaining to the Company and Division
  • Provide timely accurate and up to date information and report when requested for by the Senior Management
  • Keep abreast of competitor activities

 

 

3. Level of autonomy

 

  • Media Plan approval
  • FOC approval for the respective category within the given LOA

 

 

4. Job Requirements

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably with Master’s degree

 

Relevant Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in a consumer marketing role, preferably with experience in fast-moving consumer goods or consumer durables industry
  • Experience in more than 1 category
  • Preferably from a multinational organization (regional or global presence)
  • Preferably has worked in the Decorative paints business
  • Experienced in managing people

 

Personal Characteristics & Behaviours

  • Good understanding of the operations of the business
  • Ability to lead a team and is a great team player
  • Good interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
