Job Purpose

Design, implement, and optimize automated systems and processes that enhance productivity, efficiency, and safety within the manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities and implementation for automation, integrating new technologies, and ensuring seamless operation of automated equipment and machinery to meet production targets and improve overall manufacturing performance.

Key Accountabilities

1.    System Design and Development: Develop, design, and implement automated systems and processes for various stages of manufacturing, including assembly, packaging, quality control, and material handling.
2.    Programming and Integration: Create and modify PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) interfaces, and other automation software to control and monitor machinery, ensuring smooth integration with existing manufacturing systems.
3.    Robotics and Automation Equipment: Select, configure, and deploy robotic systems, automated machinery, and other technologies to optimize production processes, reduce human intervention, and increase overall efficiency.
4.    Process Optimization: Continuously analyze manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing automation solutions to increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
5.    Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Provide technical support for automated equipment, diagnose, and resolve malfunctions, design routine maintenance tasks, and collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
6.    Quality Assurance: Implement automation protocols and conduct testing to ensure the accuracy and reliability of automated processes, meeting strict quality standards and compliance regulations.
7.    Safety Compliance: Ensure that all automated systems and processes adhere to safety standards and regulations, mitigating potential hazards and risks to employees and machinery.

Experience

1.    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
2.    Proven experience in the design, implementation, and optimization of automation solutions within the manufacturing industry.
3.    Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) and experience with HMI programming.
4.    Familiarity with robotics, motion control, vision systems, and other automation technologies commonly used in manufacturing.
5.    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex automation-related issues.
6.    Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus) and interfacing automation systems with enterprise-level software.
7.    Understanding of safety standards and regulations applicable to automation systems in a manufacturing environment.
8.    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
9.    Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
10.    Willingness to stay updated on the latest advancements in automation and manufacturing technologies.
