Job Purpose

To manage and develop the RD&I team and design work plan to ensure delivery of set targets for new product development, product improvement, value creation, quality management, complaint management, raw materials sourcing management, HSES and customer satisfaction, product launch, promotions and production process improvement.

 

Job Responsibilities

1.Establish objectives, manage and develop the capability of country technical team.
2.Lead, plan and prioritize the work of local team to meet business and technical targets.
3.Plan and implement activities to deliver technical support to cross functions like sales, marketing, operations and purchasing etc.
4.To establish HSE&S plan such as Maintain all technical activities /procedures to comply with AkzoNobel’s HSE&S Targets & Policy including ISO 9000, OHSAS18000 and ISO14000, Product Stewardship, SAQ, DPP2, HSE&S improvement plan.
5.Implement Quality Management system.
6.Working together with Engineering & HSE&S department, to integrate safety into business process and develop leadership culture in process Safety management to compliance to Standard such as
- Identify risks associated to certain equipment/facilities in place.
- Develop program to train respective employees on equipment operation.
- Promote safe work activities in compliance to HSE&S standards and regulations.
- Conduct the training for operators to know the potential fire, explosion, or toxic release hazards related to their job and the process.
- Check the workplace regularly to ensure that operator follows the safety rules of the facility including the required safe work practices required in the operating procedures section of the standard.
- Advise any hazards presented on workplace.
- Encourage team to apply “Golden Principle” and Life Saving Rules while working.
7.Support PSM requirement such as
- Leading and practise HSE&S Rule and operate the procedure/work instruction with safety.
- Audit chemist and technician as frequency and following the protocol and procedure as standard.
- Training chemist and technician regarding HSE& procedure.

Qualifications

- EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: BSc in Chemistry or equivalent.
- RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: At least 10 years in Decorative Paints and Coatings product related industry experience.
- PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS & BEHAVIOURS:
    -Good influence skill
    -Good interpersonal and communication skill
    -Good project management and time management skill
    -Good practical, analytical and laboratory skill
    -Independent, resourceful and self motivated
