Job Purpose

To manage the execution of manufacturing related capital project and all other improvement initiative related projects, both carried out by internal Maintenance and Engineering team and by External contractors, within project timelines, agreed budget in quality and and meeting AkzoNobel HS&S standards. Project Engineer also become site contact point on CAPEX implementation, both in internal or external stakeholders Project Engineer supports the implementation of Asset Integrity Guidelines (AIG) within the Maintenance & Engineering function, and proactively involve in ALPS AMM implementation.

Job Responsibilities

Project Engineering at Site:

  • Develops, executes and/or manages engineering projects at the site to meet the proper efficiency, time, scope, budget, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Provide input for process modifications and/or modifications of existing operation and develop business cases as appropriate.

  • Delivers the site capex investment plan in accordance with agreed site priorities.

  • Identify opportunities and make suggestions for improvement in production process.

Functional Excellence:

  • Functional excellence in local codes/standards, permitting, project management and construction management and contractor control.

  • Executes applicable AkzoNobel policies, guidelines, processes, methodologies, working methods and systems.

  • Drives knowledge management (sharing, maintaining, updating information and best practices) both internal and external to the site.

People Management:

  • Responsible for safe delivery of projects through correct management of contractors and third parties.

  • Effectively engages with key site stakeholders (and other levels) to manage expectations on site (handover, training)

Relation Management:

  • Develops strong relationships at site level and with local and national service suppliers.

  • Build and maintain a network within AkzoNobel within HSE, ISC, CAPEX procurement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumental or Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
  • More than 5 years working experience in project or engineering in multinational company.
  • Proven track record in engineering project management.
  • Hands on experience in engineering project.
  • Good understanding in HSE&S, engineering standard, quality and process improvement techniques.
  • Strong leadership skill with excellent people approach.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
