The position is accountable for development and accuracy of all estimates and quotes related to PFP projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing specialist engineering advice and interpreting customer’s exact requirements for passive fire protection in order to produce an estimate of Interchar / Chartek product requirements and/or specification requirements, once trained by our team.
  • Effective communication of the advice/estimate to the customer, sales team and project tracking in order to assist sales team to ensure estimates are converted to orders. Gain a reputation of service excellence for the department which creates additional inquiries on a global basis.
  • Assess the type of tender, client and closing date of tender to determine prioritization of all tenders.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare comprehensive DFT and volume estimates.
  • Uses mathematical equations to determine the correct and accurate estimates.
  • Acts as a resource to internal project management to clarify any issues to be considered in the estimate.
  • Coordinates with sales on all changes in scope, questions or clarifications regarding the work, during the bidding process.
  • Understands and adheres to estimate deadlines requests and the effort necessary to meet those requirements.
  • Ensures estimates are logged into appropriate system (at present CRM) for measurement, management and tracking.
  • Coordinates development of the estimate with functional departments as required
  • Responsible for optimizing and improving the estimation process and tools
  • Knowledge on the PFP assortment
  • Manages the communication of the estimate to the sales team involved

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil / Mechanical).
  • Basic paint technology knowledge particularly regarding Interchar / Chartek products and Knowledge of basic passive fire protection principles is desirable.
  • 1 to 5 years of Customer and support experience preferable in coatings industry.
  • Experience in handling complex estimation process.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural engineering and architectural drawings and a broad knowledge and understanding of structural steelwork and general engineering principles is mandatorily essential.
  • Ability to operate CAD drafting software, particularly AutoCAD is desirable.
  • Ability to quantify steelwork materials in a listed format would be a benefit.
  • Confident in dealing with a client over telephone or email in order to determine all the relevant technical information required to enable a project to be accurately quantified.
  • Good excel skills − Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment with all level of employees.
  • Ability to learn and operate new tools and programs quickly.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Should possess good communication skills and should be a good Team player with a positive “can do” attitude.
