Job Purpose

  • Complete customer & internal lab work requests. 
  • Conduct & evaluate performance of formulations.
  • Maintain accurate results & records of all completed lab work.
  • Support new product development initiatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of housekeeping & health & safety standards.
  • Work safely & comply with legal & company regulations.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Lab work request (60%)
  • Product Development/improvement based on the product profiles as per Stage Gate process / Global Lab Work Requests issued by marketing
  1. Application and plant support (20%)
  2. Communications (10%)
  • Co-coordinating with Production, QC, Commercial team.
  1. Safety, (5%)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of housekeeping & health & safety standards.
  1. Quality (5%)
  • Alignment with IS0 9001 2015 / IATF 16949.

Experience

  • College of Laboratory Science or related field such as Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years' laboratory experience with a background in chemistry/polymers. Experience in automotive coatings or related industry preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Conform with all site and laboratory safety requirements and policies, including participation in AkzoNobel safety programs including audits and safety meetings.  Must demonstrate safe practices and behaviors.
