Job Purpose & Job Activities / Accountabilities
Perform Laboratory activities required within the lab projects and in particular:
• Prepare Decorative Paints laboratory samples, up to 10Kg, including:
- RM Sourcing in the Plant (if required) and Lab Warehouse(s)
- Lab Premix preparations
- Samples packaging
• Decorative Paints laboratory samples characterization via Standard Method of test
• Decorative Paints samples application on selected substrates
• Applied Decorative Paints characterization via Standard method of tests
• Reports lab activities in the required laboratory books and prepare test results reports
• Perform intellectual formulative activities.
• Follow laboratory procedures and in particular:
- H&S Castelletto Lab procedures
- Quality Castelletto Lab procedures
- Lab Raw Materials and Finished Products inventory lists
• Follow Castelletto site directives and procedures.
• If required participate to customer trials.
• Provide full formulations to Laboratory manager to enable product NPI process
• ETICS Certification maintenance (FPC, tests, Annual Audit, Suppliers contact etc.).
• PS&RA activities on SDSs, labels, products.

• Comply with corporate rules and regulatory on Health and Safety

• Ensures compliance with legal and corporate standards, policies and local regulations in job related terms in full compliance AkzoNobel’s Code of Conduct
• Share best practices
• Share with the team any new activity and any new issue that can be find out and that can be helpful to improve the team daily work and knowledge.
• Participates to Projects (Local and/or MSU) when required

Job Requirements
Knowledge Required:
• Diploma in Chemistry or other scientific secondary school
• Qualified graduate chemist (3 year University degree minimum)
• Product developments experience/skills
• Knowledge of legislation and HSE and Quality and procedures specific to the department.
Integrity in Business Principles and Code of Conduct
• Significant standards of scientific practice.
• Good level of English language (Spoken and Written)
• IT knowledge: MS Office in particular
