1) Job purpose
- Adapt manufacturing processes to production equipment and carry out method studies to improve working practices.
- Master and monitor inspection/measurement resources and monitoring devices used within the ANC Morocco Group.
- Perform bacteriological controls, follow up tests, and provide production support.
- Implement the ALPS continuous improvement system at site level.
2) Responsibilities
Methods & bacteriology
- Conduct and follow up method studies related to:
- Adapting manufacturing processes to production equipment.
- Determining the equipment and conditions required for each manufacturing step.
- Preparing the manufacturing follow-up file (process tracking file).
- Writing a report at the end of each study.
- Validating results with the Methods Manager.
- Supporting operators during implementation of manufacturing processes.
- Performing in-process controls for industrialization trials.
- Filing and archiving method study documentation.
- Carry out industrialization studies for new raw materials.
- Provide support to Production:
- Address issues encountered when implementing manufacturing processes.
- Provide daily assistance to Production to contribute to achieving defined objectives.
- Study/optimize workstation organization.
- Implement and monitor process control charts.
- Ensure bacteriology activities:
- Bacteriological testing of all water-based products (Easicult test) according to the defined program.
- Perform critical contamination testing on Module 1 equipment (disperser, tank/storage area, packaging lines, etc.).
- Record contamination test results.
- Display/post results of critical contamination tests.
Continuous improvement (CI)
- Promote and support a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Implement and sustain MDI meetings and ensure their assessment/evaluation.
- Implement and sustain the 5S system at workstations.
- Prioritize and execute improvement activities.
- Develop and expand local capabilities in applying CI tools and methods (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Deploy and sustain the ALPS manufacturing program, including a coaching structure to drive CI initiatives and ensure improvements last.
- Review the ALPS operational framework (goals & targets, KPIs, operational processes, people) to ensure compliance with appropriate standards.
- Manage own improvement projects that add value to the organization.
- Build a network within AkzoNobel’s CI community; share ideas, issues, and opportunities to improve performance and problem-solving across the business, and encourage others to do the same.
- Inspire engagement with AkzoNobel’s mission, vision, strategy, core principles, values, and leadership behaviors.
- Report progress on an ongoing basis.
3) Role requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) in Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
- 1–4 years of experience in the chemical industry.
- Knowledge of measurement instruments and techniques; legal metrology organization; relevant national and international official bodies; manufacturing processes and production equipment.
- Knowledge of statistics and project management.
- Proficiency with office tools/software (MS Office).
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities.
- Teamwork capability.
- Customer- and results-oriented.
- Commitment to meeting obligations/deadlines.
- Methodical, accurate, rigorous, responsive; analytical mindset and initiative.
- English proficiency (written and spoken).
