Job Purspose

Responsible for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) to ensure the protection of people and operational safety, in compliance with Group rules, applicable legislation, and ISO 14001 and NM 005.801 standards.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Carries out responsibilities in alignment with the company’s QHSE values and policies
  • Deploys and implements the AkzoNobel Group HSE policy at the local level
  • Contributes to defining local HSE objectives, budget, and annual plan, and ensures their execution and follow-up
  • Maintains and develops the HSE management system (manuals, procedures, and related documents) in accordance with applicable standards (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Group directives, etc.)
  • Acts, in collaboration with management, as a driver for HSE culture, continuous improvement, and compliance with HSE policies and procedures
  • Manages, develops, and coaches teams, and promotes talent development
  • Plans, manages, and coordinates assigned projects and ensures their successful completion
  • Monitors changes in local HSE regulations and ensures compliance with legal requirements and company standards
  • Leads the continuous improvement process related to HSE
  • Assesses and anticipates occupational risks and environmental impacts of company activities
  • Ensures prevention and minimization of accidents and incidents
  • Ensures proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and waste segregation
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of workstations
  • Maintains and updates HSE dashboards and analyzes performance indicators
  • Validates special raw material (MP) instructions
  • Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
  • Participates in pre-startup reviews of new equipment and installations
  • Participates in Management of Change (MOC) reviews
  • Leads incident/accident investigation and analysis activities
  • Participate in daily and quarterly HSE reviews
  • Organizes and coordinates HSE committee meetings
  • Conducts Process Safety Management (PSM) audits
  • Builds and maintains a network of internal and external HSE experts and represents the organization in external HSE-related associations
  • Promotes understanding and implementation of the “Responsible Care” concept
  • Monitors company waste evaluation to control and reduce it

 

Role Requirements

  • University degree with at least 5 years of experience in HSE management or similar roles
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
  • Project management skills
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Proficiency in standard office tools
  • Good understanding of company operations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills with various stakeholders
  • Ability to train and facilitate multidisciplinary and diverse teams
  • Strong ability to manage priorities and conflicts
  • Methodical, rigorous, responsive, and analytical mindset
