Key Responsibilites

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Cairns Warehouse and Trade Centre.

  • Plan and optimise warehouse and office operations to meet stock control, efficiency, and administrative targets.

  • Lead monthly safety meetings, conduct regular HSE audits, and ensure compliance with head office safety standards, including incident reporting and root-cause analysis.

  • Maintain high customer service standards through effective stock management, sales order processing, and providing pricing/availability information.

  • Perform hands-on warehouse tasks including picking, put-away, dispatching, tinting paint, vehicle loading, and operating a forklift (license required) with some heavy manual handling.

  • Support process improvements, particularly in paint tinting.

  • Use and maintain computer systems (Microsoft Office and SAP) for customer service, logistics, planning, purchasing, dispatch, invoicing, and stock control.

  • Manage warehouse layout and assist with product range expansion.

  • Conduct cycle counts, annual stocktakes, and SLOB control.

  • Allocate tasks and support skill development for Trade Centre staff while fostering strong relationships with internal sales teams and customers

 

Job Requirements

The person must possess at the following personal qualities to be able to undertake this role:  

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Proven organisation and communication skills, as well as flexibility will be key to this challenging role with constantly changing priorities.
  • Computer knowledge including MS Office, email communication, ERP experience.
  • Strong people management skills will also be instrumental to your success.
  • A demonstrated commitment to process and efficiency improvements will be highly regarded.
