Job Purpose

To manage and oversee day-to-day import and export operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, AkzoNobel's policies, HSE&S, and delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

1. Shipment Planning and Execution:

• Schedule and track import/export shipments.

• Coordinate with freight forwarders and carriers.

• Coordinate with internal and external vendors, government bodies to apply for impex licenses at the earliest timeframe to ensure shipment clearance on time, in full at the lowest DEM charges.

2. Documentation Management

• Prepare, verify, and maintain invoices, packing lists, B/L, COO, permits, and other documents.

• Pre-determine Products subjects to legal regulations to trigger the document submission early for import and export license submission

• Ensure compliance with legal and company standards.

3. Customs Clearance & Compliance

• Submit documentation to customs authorities.

• Ensure compliance with regulations and trade policies.

• provide reasonable explanations and backup information to all customs requests regarding to new chemical laws, and other tightened regulations in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

4. Issue Resolution

• Identify and resolve shipment or documentation discrepancies.

• Take the lead to drive the corrective and preventive actions to avoid issues repeated by engaging internal and external stakeholders into the solution design process.

• Communicate with stakeholders to prevent delays.

5. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

• Generate weekly/monthly shipment and KPI reports.

• Monitor delivery performance, costs, and exceptions.

• Provide weekly and monthly analysis and performance improvement plan under the assigned BU.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree of any discipline; preferred: International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related discipline.

• 3–5 years in import/export operations or logistics.

• In-depth knowledge of customs clearance, HS codes, Incoterms, and trade documentation.

• Strong communication and interpersonal, stakeholder engagement, and planning skills.

• Able to read, interpret and translate legal documents into daily operational actions

• Computer literacy (MS Office, data entry systems, ERP preferred).

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Willingness to learn and follow procedures, support and develop team.
