Regional Category Manager - Sourcing EMEA

 

The position is responsible for the Manufacturing Services EMEA (NPR) category strategies leading to sourcing strategies, key supplier & contract management, supplier performance improvement and providing (sub-) category expertise. Furthermore, the position acts as the reference for strategy to be adopted by country buyers. Regional Category Managers operate under the stewardship of the Global Sourcing Director.

The role - Key Responsabilities

 

  • Category Management:
    • Category management for CAPEX, including sub-categories Process Equipment, Engineering Services, Construction
    • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned category / sub-categories
    • Execute of (electronic) RfP processes
    • Risk management (supply, financial, supplier base, etc)
  • Supplier Management:
    • Responsible for the supplier relationship management ensuring mutually beneficial supplier relationships and collaboration at all organizational levels
    • Key supplier manager (KSM) for key supplier(s) based in his/her category / sub-categories
    • Introduce new suppliers
  • Stakeholder management:
    • Manage internal (Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain) and external stakeholder; key-stakeholders are regional functional leaders, as well as procurement peers in other categories,
    • Agree actions with internal stakeholders to realize cost savings and/ or avoidance, drive optimization of TCO, payment term improvements, master data improvements, spend and supplier consolidation
    • Be an ambassador for process adherence throughout the whole company in line with policies & procedures 
  • Contract management:
    • Price negotiation with suppliers involved in the category
    • Contract negotiation and implementation

 

 

About you - Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or equivalent work experience desired; 
  • At least 4 years in an international Purchasing or Commercial role;  
  • Fluent in English is mandatory, both written and spoken.
  • Procurement accreditations (e.g. CPM/APICS) desirable; 
  • Savy in relevant Procurement tooling (e.g. Coupa, Power BI)
  • Executer who can deliver category strategies, develop pricing models, and creates impact in the organization; 
  • Good general sourcing/procurement experience and proven track record in Supplier and Contract Management is essential;
  • Knowledge of Capex concepts such as EPC/EPCM projects and project management is preferable;
  • Familiarity in legal contracting is advantageous  
  • Open minded with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Six Sigma is a plus; 
  • Excellent communicator with different management layers in different functions (Operations, Procurement) and in different parts of the company (BU, GBS);
