Role

We have an opening for an R&D Specialist to join the R&D LTS MU Team based in Barcelona. Supporting both El Prat and Zona Franca plants. 

Job Purpose

  • To conduct experimental work in a laboratory environment focused on the transfer to production of innovative products and the improvement of existing products.
  • Introduce new recipes in production, from laboratory to pilot and production trial (process optimization)
  • Introduce new raw materials
  • Introduce quality standards and new testing methods
  • Support Production with production trials and production issues.
  • Supporting Quality team with analysis of quality complaints
  • Present and discuss technical results
  • Closely collaborate with other R&D teams, Supply Chain and Quality

Key Accountabilities

  • Experience in formulating and testing paints.
  • Capability to adapt to R&D and plant priorities
  • Good team-working
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Eager to learn and apply all safety, health and environmental guidelines, according to site and company standards (5S)

Experience

  • Professional Education in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering M.Sc., B.Sc. (or other relevant education background).
  • 5 years of laboratory experience
  • Fluency in English (verbally and written), basic in Spanish minimum
  • Knowledge of SAP will be appreciated
