PR Buyer, Marine, Protective & Yacht

Job Purpose

• Responsible for the procurement of raw materials for the Marine, Protective and Yacht business of AkzoNobel in Europe
• Liaison point between material planning, suppliers and sourcing teams to ensure stability of material supply to the Marine, Protective & Yacht sites
• Executes the sourcing strategy at local level and is the interface with local suppliers, planning, site quality and R&D departments
• Acts as the key procurement interface with local stakeholders & Suppliers and first escalation interface to handle local supplier issues.

Key Accountabilities

• Implements the sourcing strategy on country/area level
• Communicates the local requirements to regional or global sourcing teams and suppliers.
• Conducts commercial negotiations and manages relationships with suppliers managed by the regional procurement organization (if delegated by a Sourcing Director), including all sourcing activities, supplier selection, contracting and pricing and terms
• Drive proactively and support the price change management for material requirements in their geographical scope, including creation or maintenance requests for purchasing info-records / outline agreements (for new and existing materials).
• Interacts with local stakeholders at site: Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, RD&I, Local Commercial Organization
• Acts as the first escalation interface to handle site related supplier issues and seeks to resolve the majority of the issues raised or decide to escalate immediately if local resolution is not possible
• Identifies opportunities and contributes to and leads local projects, aiming to optimize MOQ, ordering volumes, lead times, payment terms etc.
• Manages local, plant specific suppliers and related SLAs

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field. Master’s Degree will be an asset
• Minimum 3 years of previous experience in purchasing/procurement role preferrable, with an international understanding. Could also have gained experience in planning, sourcing or within the broader supply chain function.
• Previous experience in working in a manufacturing industry would be beneficial.
• Fluent English skills both in the spoken and written form.
• SAP experience valuable.
• Problem Solving – Gathers and analyzes information skillfully and provides solutions in complex situations.
• The ability to gain fast and efficient responses from our network of key raw material suppliers will be essential to success in this role.
• Pulling together individuals from across various functions to work collaboratively will be key.
