Demand Planner
The role of the Demand Planner is to manage the forecasting process while working closely together with commercial teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately reflected in the forecast so that the correct business decisions are made.
Analytics
- Technical: Gather and interrogate data points to predict future demand requirements.
- Feed the forecast into the relevant systems.
- Track targets for Forecast Accuracy / BIAS.
- Review and propose stocking policy changes.
- Support in Health inventory review and analysis (Slob related activities).
Insight to Action
- Provide a long-term view for the Demand Review over a 4-to-36-month time horizon.
- Deliver actionable insight to inform the S&OE process over 0 to 3 months.
- Support the regional Customer Demand Manager with the Demand Step in IBP (Integrated Business Planning) and S&OE (Sales & Operation Execution).
Ways of Working
- Drive effective and accurate forecasting with Commercial teams.
- Involve cross functional expertise to improve forecast bias and accuracy.
About the Role
- Deliver demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation to contribute to IBP process, give visibility of our plans to all stakeholders.
- Accurately reflect customer plans in our forecasting tools.
- Challenge & manage the assumptions used in the sales forecast to inform the correct business decisions and gain learnings to improve future performance.
- Monitor performance to forecast and lead discussions to tackle the issues as they arise.
- Understand the impact of changes in the forecast on the wider business and keep Supply chain and other relevant functions informed of any changes.
- Manage, analyse and take learnings from abnormal customer demands to inform decision making with the S&OE process, whilst striving to meet Customer service requirements.
- Gain Product and Customer expertise to understand better their demand patterns and respective actions to improve forecasting bias and accuracy.
- Review stocking policy to fit to purpose.
- Review inventory health by being an active team member of Slob teams.
About You
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
- Experience in constructing and maintaining forecasts.
- Previous exposure to Supply Chain management.
- Sales experience is desirable.
- Process driven to deliver incremental business efficiencies.
- System capability, e.g. SAP, OMP, BI and Power BI.
- Advanced Excel knowledge required.
- Numerate, analytical and results oriented.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, internally & externally.
- English (Advanced level) is a must.
