Job Purpose

The Technical Application Lead is accountable for the delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of business-critical digital applications within the organization’s global technology landscape.

The role ensures the development of scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that support commercial and operational processes, while leading Agile teams and driving engineering excellence across the application lifecycle.

Platform Development & Delivery
Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performing applications supporting AkzoNobel’s global Color IT Applications
End-to-End Technical Ownership
Contribute across the full technology stack, leveraging expertise in .NET, modern front-end frameworks, and cloud technologies to deliver robust and efficient solutions.
Integration & Business Enablement
Ensure seamless integration with internal systems to support efficient purchasing and product workflows for global stakeholders.
Agile Leadership & Team Collaboration
Co-lead multiple Scrum teams in partnership with the Product Owner, ensuring alignment with business priorities and successful delivery of sprint objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Solution Architects, DevOps Engineers, and Agile team members to translate functional and non-functional requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
Quality & Engineering Excellence
Apply software engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Drive adoption of emerging technologies and modern development practices, including AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot, to enhance productivity and solution quality.

Key Activities

Application Delivery & Ownership
Lead the design, development, and lifecycle management of responsible Color IT applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
Own end-to-end delivery of application features, from requirements through deployment and ongoing support.
Ensure effective operation and continuous improvement of applications by aligning priorities with Product Owners, internal IT teams, and external partners.
Agile Team Leadership
Provide functional leadership to multiple Agile/Scrum teams, setting priorities, and managing work allocation.
Drive team performance through coaching, feedback, and continuous development, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives and quality standards.
Co-lead Agile ceremonies with the Product Owner, ensuring predictable sprint execution and delivery outcomes.
Technical Design & Decision-Making
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and platform standards.
Make informed design and technology decisions within defined architectural guidelines.
Ensure solutions are maintainable, reusable, and aligned with long-term platform evolution.
Resource & Vendor Management
Contribute to resource and capacity planning, ensuring appropriate skills and capabilities to meet delivery objectives.
Select and manage external resources, ensuring quality, performance, and alignment with delivery needs.
Quality & Engineering Standards
Enforce software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.
Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and data protection standards.
Drive continuous improvement in development practices, tooling, and delivery efficiency.
System Integration & Operations
Ensure reliable integration with internal enterprise systems supporting commercial and operational processes.
Oversee application performance, monitoring, and incident resolution in collaboration with DevOps teams.
Maintain production stability and drive continuous service improvement.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborate with Solution Architects, DevOps Engineers, and business stakeholders to align on requirements, priorities, and delivery outcomes.
Act as the primary technical interface for the Product Owner and project stakeholders.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA), and IT Security standards.

Education

4 to 8 years of experience in below technologies

C#, DotNet Core & ASP.Net
React JS
Cosmos DB management and creation
MS Azure development & Devops
SQL & TSQL

Bachelors degree in Engineering is mandatory
