Job Purpose

    Manage team of 3 direct reports, 1 supporting pigment screening and 2 in colorant development

  • Manage day to day work of team
  • Facilitate and assist team with delivering projects
  • Agree project plans with manager and other stakeholders
  • Prepare and present results to manager and other stakeholders
  • Build and develop relationship with production alongside manager

 

 

 

 

2. Key responsibilities

 

 

 

  • Orders RM’s, paints, colorants and consumables, Takes action if not received in time.
  • Maintains lab equipment used by team
  • Develop understanding of transfer of colorant formulations from lab scale to production scale
  • Actively participates in discussion with production teams in Asia to identify issues in production and colorant platform maintenance
  • Evaluates team’s results and prepares presentations to effectively communicate manager and stakeholders
  • Works with team to guide and advise formulation optimization to ensure efficient and effective routes are sought to solve colorant performance/property issues
  • Leads team by taking on colorant development lab tasks to drive through results when necessary and cover planned and unplanned absences
  • Organizes and maintains a safe work environment by communicating and demonstrating safe work practices in line with corporate HSE&S directives & guidelines to build work culture driven by safety consciousness.
  • Evaluation of raw materials in colorants as per screening procedures. Plans the activities and ensures timely completion.
  • Register and checks results into required documents. Make sure all data & measurements are complete

4. Job requirements

 

 

 

  • Knowledge of MS-Office

 

  • Knowledge of coatings chemistry/polymers/reaction mechanism

 

  • Ideally knowledge of coatings production processes and process development or a desire to learn

 

  • Practical experience of problem solving with a drive for results

 

  • Adhering to organization specific code & professionalism

 

  • Results oriented with excellent drive & commitment to accomplish

 

  • Work schedule Planning & Time Management

 

  • Multi-tasking & flexi-orientation & ability to work under pressure

 

  • Good English communication skill is a MUST effective email, telephonic communication and document writing skills with good business etiquettes
