Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job

  1. Lead and manage the Supply Planning Team for India Coatings (MPY, Powder, ASC, ICO) to ensure the required service to the customer and the appropriate balance with costs and inventory for both finished goods and materials.
  2. Be the primary interface for Coatings Supply Planning with Country BU Teams, IN Manufacturing Leadership, ISC Finance, RDI etc
  3. Ensure the region is meeting the targets month after month in terms of OTIF (Delivery Capability), Inventory (DIO) and SLOBs (%) optimizing the impact on manufacturing, logistics and procurement costs.
  4. Support ICD Supplies to other Countries like Powder to Australia, VR Export, MPY Export etc
  5. Implement and develop the needed processes and tools to perform the required planning activities.
  6. Develop the team and ensure their engagement. 
  7. Be the Point for Contact for Coatings Supply Planning Process Audits, Updates to Country Leadership Team, Finance team etc
  8. Support the 4 BU Supply Chain Managers on side projects and the deployment of the strategy and operational plans into the region.
  9. Ensure a good communication and integration with demand/Bus, manufacturing, procurement, logistics and finance.

 

Material Planning: you are involved in planning all raw materials and packaging, ensuring that the production plan can be executed. Through close contact with procurement and suppliers you ensure a solid supplier relationship and performance.

Production Planning (PP): you develop the factory plan for the short (12-weeks) and long term (24 months) in which you fulfill market demand while considering factory capacity/constraints.

Products for Resale (PFR) Planning*: you work closely with suppliers from whom we source materials that are an addition to our paint/coating portfolio, such as spray paints, paint samples and supportive materials (e.g. brushes, tape, dust masks)

Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP): you ensure the optimized distribution of products from the central warehouse towards the different warehouses across a complex global market. This requires the experience to understand market demand and customer needs in order to best divide the production plan.

Capacity planning: managing of the Rough-Cut-Capacity-Plan (RCCP) process and manage planned production capability exceptions for Supply Points. Ensuring optimal balancing month after month Plant Load/Capacity and Warehouse Load/Capacity.

Responsibilities

Supply Planning Manager:

  • Manage the supply planning team for the different sites in India Coatings (Bangalore, Thane, Mohali)
  • Demonstrate leadership according to company values, walking the path with the team.
  • Implement the right and agreed governance in the planning team.
  • Implement and develop MDI and Tier meetings.
  • Ensure the right setting of objectives, performance and development of the team.
  • Liaise with BU leadership to ensure business targets are achieved.
  • Develop and implement details plans to improve performance on service, inventory and SLOBs, but as well on efficiency and improvement of the processes.
  • Guide team members in their day to day activities management.
  • Work closely with regional supply planning manager and hub planning manager to deploy the strategy and plans within the region.
  • Ensure the right collaboration with demand management/planning teams, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, customer service and finance.
  • Production, Material & Distribution Planning:

  • Ensure planners plan finished goods products in the three horizons: IBP, Demand Control and Execution. Emphasize focus on optimal trade-off between service, inventory and costs. 
  • Make sure the Rough Cut Capacity Plan (RCCP) process and planned production capability exceptions for Supply Points are managed (x production sites and relevant tollers/TPMs).
  • Participate in the monthly supply reviews, RCCP preparation and review per site on demand.
  • Prepare and lead the demand control meeting.
  • Provide monthly and weekly performance analysis and action plans.
  • Ensure all finished goods sold for Coatings India are planned to manage production requirements, distribution or purchasing to ensure the performance targets (DC, DIO, SLOBs).
  • Contact point to resolve over/ under stock position.
  • Ensure team applies the right inventory, replenishment and planning strategies.
  • Manage exception escalation resolution.
  • Review and manage suppliers/tollers, manufacturing and logistics performance
  • Key Performance Indicators
  • DC: Service – ensure on time and in full targets (OTIF) measured as delivery capability are achieved.
  • DIO: Inventory levels – maintain correct stock balance whilst adhering to operating working capital targets in days and in value
  • SLOBs: manage SLOBs with proactive reduction once there and preventive not to generate them

 

Job Requirements

 

The successful applicant should meet the following requirements:

  • Preferable MBA from Premium Institute with at least 10 years’ experience in FMCG, Paint/Coating or Retail industries Supply Chain Improvement or consulting
  • At least a few years of People management experience
  • High level of experience on Supply Planning, IBP processes, Planning tools, Supply planning, planning in SAP ECC and BI
  • Change management: ability to manage a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and communicator, able to listen, able to handle team tensions
  • Stress resistance, flexible, problem solving attitude
