Job Purpose

 Purpose of the job

 

 

    Support and carry out project lab activities in one or more of the following areas:

  • Screen raw materials in colorant formulations
  • Produces milled colorant formulations
  • Testing colorant formulations using required processes
  • Development of the fundamental understanding of formulation technologies

 

 

 

 

2. Key responsibilities

 

 

 

  • Evaluation of raw materials in colorants as per screening procedures. Plans the activities and ensures timely completion in line with manager
  • Register and checks results into required documents. Make sure all data & measurements are complete
  • Consistently and effectively communicate progress and issues, both verbally and in summaries for discussion with line manager
  • Creates colorant dispersions
  • Carries out testing on dispersions, making reductions, applying paint, color measurements, viscosity testing.  Provides testing results to Team Leader for evaluation. Lays down data from the experiments in lab notes and contributes to testing reports.
  • Executes various physical and analytical tests on the wet and dry paints and is capable of

             interpreting the results.

  •       Works with team leader to optimize and improve colorant performance and properties
  • Maintains lab equipment’s connected to colorant making/testing activities
  • Oversees the requirement of materials and consumables for colorant making/testing activities
  • Chooses the most efficient ways to use and apply colorants and tries to minimize the amount of waste
  • Contributes towards safe work environment by adhering to safe work practices in line with

             corporate HSE&S directives & guidelines to build work culture driven by safety

             consciousness.

Perform a variety of routine tasks, initially under close supervision, which provide experience and familiarization with formulation and application methods, practices, and programs.  Work prioritized regularly, generates plans with identification of key next steps which are agreed and reviewed with line manager

 

 

 

 

4. Job requirements

 

 

 

  • Knowledge of MS-Office

 

  • Basic knowledge of coatings chemistry/polymers/reaction mechanism

 

  • Adhering to organization specific code & professionalism

 

  • Results oriented with excellent drive & commitment to accomplish

 

  • Work schedule Planning & Time Management

 

  • Multi-tasking & flexi-orientation & ability to work under pressure

 

  • Good English communication skill is a MUST effective email, telephonic communication and document writing skills with good business etiquettes

 

  • Teamwork – gel well with people in terms of contributing & generating new ideas & understanding others perspectives.
