Purpose of the job

AkzoNobel, headquartered in the Netherlands, is a large multi-national company with global presence and market leading positions in coatings and performance coatings for both industry and consumers worldwide. The central Treasury function is responsible for Treasury and Insurance for the group.  Within this function, Treasury manages corporate finance, financial risk, liquidity, cash management, in-house bank and payment processes. The Insurance department provides global insurance to AkzoNobel companies worldwide.

The Treasury and Insurance Operations team is responsible for the accounting, control and operational activities relevant to the Treasury function.

This role leads the Treasury and Insurance Operations team whose purpose it is to manage the daily operations of Treasury and Insurance. It is where all Treasury activities come together: execution of external/intercompany business payments, validation/settlement external and internal FX contracts, settlement of intercompany loans, settlement of insurance claims and allocation of premiums, and initiation of bank guarantees on behalf of the local businesses. Given the high level of automation, the focus is on controls, exception handling, maintenance, fixes and customer support.

The key objective is to have efficient, effective and controlled execution of transactional processes at the lowest possible cost for both Treasury and Insurance. The challenge is to deliver on this ambition in a dynamic environment, dealing with constant changes in the organization, people, processes and systems. It requires an adaptive and client focused attitude with a drive for continuous improvement.

We offer a great opportunity to learn the Treasury activities within AkzoNobel and enable you to further develop your Treasury skills in a professional environment with great further career opportunities either within the Treasury function or elsewhere within our company. You will primarily be based at our HQ office in Amsterdam, but a hybrid working arrangement is available (part office and part home).
