Job Purpose

 

  • The integrated supply chain is organized into focused functions across 4 regions – Americas, EMEA, North Asia and South Asia.
  • Within Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) the Supply Planning function has been formed to drive excellence in Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Supply Planning.
  • The planning team is being formed to transform the supply planning practises of the Paints & Coatings Company to achieve Class A standard under the Olivier Wight IBP system.
  • The position is part of the Global Planning team responsible for the deployment of supply planning processes within the region to achieve the required level of planning capability and performance.
  • The role will have an important contribution to the set-up and implementation (the How), but also in (creating proposals for) the content (the What) based on experience, and cooperation in the networks (s)he is active in and obtain the support for these proposals from the relevant stakeholders.
  • Including developing major step change initiatives to improve the level of planning capability, define the supporting system requirements to drive performance.
  • A multi-functional approach and high-quality stakeholder management (many and highly diverse stakeholders) is essential.

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Leads the deployment of planning primary processes across the region, following standard deployment methodology, to drive functional excellence in supply planning and execution and IBP processes
  • Regional Planning policy and methodology definition including establishing inventory policies
  • Leads step change planning projects within the region to improve planning efficiency and productivity
  • Provides support for the implementation of planning improvement projects across the region
  • Provides the planning category expertise across the region including best practice transfer and leveraging knowledge from other regions
  • Leads the continuous assessment and benchmarking of planning operations to identify improvement opportunities, including end to end value stream mapping
  • Plans and coordinates the initiatives to deliver the Planning Kpi’s across the region
  • Provides rapid support to assist the Regional Value Stream Planning teams / Regional Transformation manager
  • Leads the regional Planning network in which all planning representatives of the region are represented
  • Grows and develops the team of Planning Development Managers and Senior Users in the planning teams
  • Achieve the technical, schedule, and budget objectives of every project

Experience

 

  • University or Master degree level, preferably in Supply Chain / technical discipline
  • 10+ years relevant work experience in Supply Chain Planning processes and systems
  • Strong recommendation on Apics certification
  • Sound basis in line management in an operational role e.g. supply chain manager or production management and good understanding of the Supply Chain function: strategy, processes, processes, systems and organization
  • Change management: managing improvement programs at a global scale and with diverse teams as well as the cultural aspects of the change to be delivered
  • Experience (direct or indirect) with sales and customer service organizations
  • Good understanding of external business trends to drive strategically the process standardization agenda
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in applying continuous improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous Improvement methodologies and tools
  • Strong Project management experience
  • Seen by others as credible, trustworthy, and open to new ideas
  • Strong leadership skills, teambuilding, engagement and talent management
  • Focused on results
  • Good problem-solving skills, able to identify and structure issues, run accurate analyses and synthesize recommendations
  • Strong desire to improve existing status
