Purpose of the job

The Senior Global Mobility Services Officer will work as a member of the Global Mobility Service team that is part of the Rewards Center of Expertise.

The Senior Global Mobility Services Officer will be integral in all aspects of international assignments and relocations, including international compensation, benefits, taxation, immigration, and relocation. You will partner with the recruitment, finance, shared services and local country teams to ensure high quality service to assignees, and relocating employees.

This job is an extension of the current team. 

Key responsibilities

  • End to end coordination of assignments and relocations, including administrating and monitoring of all in- and outsourced services and activities throughout the life cycle of an assignment resp international relocation:
    tax and social security
    children’s education
    partner support
    health insurance
  • Support the Global Mobility Case Manager as the single point of coordination towards assignees and the local international hire population into specific regions.
  • Act as the liaison between AkzoNobel and global mobility outsource vendors.
  • Calculate cost projections for international assignment compensation packages and for relocation packages of local international hires at the request of the Case Manager.
  • Conduct in depth policy counseling for assignees, relocating employees, and family members.
  • Prepare assignment contracts and corresponding compensation packages.
  • Maintain international assignment data in local and global HRIS systems.
  • Coordinate with local country teams and/or outsource vendors regarding visa applications and renewals.
  • Review vendor invoices for approval by Team Lead Global Mobility Services, including allocation to intercompany accounts.
  • Special project work as assigned.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Law, Economics, Business Administration, or similar.
  • Minimum of  5 years of relevant experience in Global Mobility operations and as a part of an in-house corporate Global Mobility Team.
  • In-depth knowledge about international compliance for relocating employees, i.e. immigration, tax, social security, and understanding the impact of international treaties and regulations is required. As a senior extensive knowledge of all of these topics is necessary. 
  • A combination of experience in Global Mobility and international Tax laws is essential.
  • Experience with RFP/RFI processes.
  • Independent self-starter as well as team player. 
  • Fluency in English and Dutch.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a certain degree of cultural sensitivity.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and filing system.
  • Excellent organisational, administrative and planning skills are essential.
