In short

You as the Global Category Manager Software and Licenses  will be responsible for negotiation and oversight of provider contract(s) and you are responsible for the BPO/ITO programs’ success. You are responsible for the strategy, negotiation and execution of contracts within the scope of Enterprise Services category.

Key responsibilities


The Global Category Manager Software and Licenses  will :
• Lead and collaborate with AkzoNobel (AN) Legal and the Information Management (IM) and IM-Global Business Services (GBS) organizations to negotiate commercials with BPO/ITO and other Services providers, and escalate to senior IM (GBS) and/or AN leadership, including CxO level, as needed.
• Collect knowledge on the contract and how the contractual agreements are treated by various parties. Act as the authority on the contract and liaise with various stakeholders on how to best apply the contract in AkzoNobel’s best interest.
• Manage the changes to contract, related documents and ensure all commitments and opportunities related to the contract are adhered to and applied.
• Review all requests for services to providers and determine the contractual impact and settlement.
• Periodic review and evaluation of the contract with various stakeholders (Legal, GBS, IM, Internal Customers, Finance and Providers).
• Conduct contract strategy meetings to identify issues and client requirements, facilitate pricing discussions, and obtain senior management input on timelines and deliverables
• Support the continuous improvement process with insights and suggestions to improve the relationship and performance of the service providers
• Support with monitoring the performance of the providers according to contract and SLA’s, and ensure the contractually agreed measures are taken based on the actual performance as delivered
• Provide guidance and support when required to AkzoNobel employees in communications / interactions with providers to reflect contractual agreements.
• Research cost drivers and conduct industry analysis for the development of negotiation strategy and tactical/strategic vendor plans
• Create and execute a service integration and management (SIAM) capability for AkzoNobel, ensuring cross-provider integration and cooperation, as well as a standard set of tools and techniques for providing data-driven and leveraged oversight.

You have excellent negotiating and persuasive skills, both in one-on-one and group situations.
Also, you have the ability to creatively solve problems, decisively and quickly, that meet the needs of Akzo Nobel and its clients.
You have gained deep experience in the specific area of Software and IT licenses (E.g. SAP, Microsoft, etc.) contract negotiations.
As well you have experience managing and working through tough situations specific to sourcing and contracting processes for IT Services with Total Contract Value of € 50M+
You are able to perform work without appreciable direction and exercise considerable independence in determining objectives and approaches; direct the work of others and/or act as leader of cross-functional teams and you bring in-depth knowledge of contractual documents and requirements, risk control programs and business services sourcing and best practices. Deep expertise in the leading practices around commercial operating terms and conditions, typical legal clauses, pricing models, ARC/RCC variable, resourcing/pricing structures, FTE and volume-based deal formats, contract governance models, and compliance and controls for BPO/ITO contract management.
You are able to demonstrate excellent analytical and mathematical skills. And show the ability to translate complex contract agreements into simple straightforward practical guidance to different audiences.
You have excellent working knowledge of contract law, concepts, and policies and procedures related to contract management, as well as knowledge of project management principles.
You gained experience doing at least 5 full-cycle BPO/ITO deals, having played key leadership roles in provider selection, contract negotiation, all aspects of commercials, transition of services, and contract management.
Finance assessments for internal projects as well as acquisitions
And you bring demonstrated organizational ability to work effectively across cultures and regions

 

You should also bring the following attributes
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in HR, Finance, IM or Procurement related area, Business or Engineering-related fields. MBA is preferred.
- 10+ years relevant work experience in contract/SLA management, negotiations, working with both captive and outsourcing providers, project management.
- Experience and process knowledge of: Finance and accounting, Procurement, HR, IM (infrastructure and applications) and other business support functions in a multinational environment with deep understanding of both supplier and client challenges and motivators.
- Experience with licensing SAP, Microsoft etc. is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to develop creative solutions to complex business relationships.
- Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken
- Legal background or relevant experience is preferred
