Purpose of the job

You will contribute to business projects supporting the AkzoNobel enterprise strategy of Grow & Deliver. The position will be in the Global Information Management center of expertise. With the ambition to harmonize and simplify the finance function you will play a crucial role in strategic projects to make this happen across multiple SAP ERP systems.

As project consultant you will have a level of autonomy in organizing your own work and as you will be working mainly with SAP products, we provide opportunities to deepen and expand your knowledge by training, coaching and the variety of subjects to work on.

In your role as project consultant finance & controlling you will be involved in the execution of multiple strategic global finance initiatives. You will be responsible for execution and sometimes solution direction discussions or new functionality rollouts within the global SAP systems.

Together with solution architects you will safeguard design principles and advice on best practices.  You will keep track of the latest developments related to SAP functionality and advice senior management on steps to take to utilize new functionality within our organization. You will have an active role in further defining of our future AkzoNobel SAP ERP landscape.  

Key responsibilities

• Be responsible for finance project execution and major / complex change development.
• Support the finance business initiatives in their strategy to harmonize and simplify processes in SAP
• Create functional design documents
• Execute training to project consultants, solution architects and key user community
• Knowledge transfer to operational support organization and business teams
• Assist and execute test cycles
• Alignment with other functional domains
• Oversee new innovations and test new functionality during proof of concepts or pilots.
• Ensure deadlines are met.
• Identify business opportunities and ensure internal customer satisfaction.
• Present project achievements to the Center of Expertise, contribute to knowledge sharing
• Keep abreast of industry best practices
• Identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Communicate and align with the finance function

• Strong SAP Finance & Controlling skills.
• Results-driven and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities.
• Understands sensitivity and security questions around financial data.
• Able to act in a complex multinational environment.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and time-management skill

Preferred skills
• Skills in SAP finance & controlling configuration
• Skills with SAP S/4 HANA and central finance

Relevant experience 
• Experience with SAP products
• Experience with product costing, profit /cost center reorganization, COPA
• Experience with integration topics
• Experience in a finance & controlling project consultant position or similar role is required. 
• Work in an agile environment.

Educational qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree preferably in finance or controlling, business informatics or related field
