In short

As the Job Evaluation Manager you are responsible for creating and maintaining a logic and sustainable global job framework that aligns to relevant business as well as HR processes. Furthermore, in the role of Job Evaluation Manager you are also expected to contribute to driving AkzoNobel’s rewards strategy and organizational design.

The role is part of the Global Rewards team in Amsterdam that focuses on Executive Rewards. Benefits & Pensions, Global Mobility and other Compensation related topics. The team in Amsterdam consist of approximately 15 colleagues and the role is also part of the global Rewards community of AkzoNobel.


Key responsibilities

Policy development
• As the Job Evaluation Manager you deliver a significant contribution to the definition of a holistic vision on organization design, job evaluation and the application of the remuneration policy. You put critical themes on the agenda and influence decision-making towards AkzoNobel’s reward strategy which is an important element of the people agenda in AkzoNobel.

Job Evaluation & Organizational Design
• You’re responsible to the global job-evaluation operating and governance model and the maintenance of it by ensuring/ facilitating continuous improvements.
• You define and lead major reorganization (job) assessments and projects. In this role you are responsible for a timely completion and implementation of the agreed project scope.
• Educate and coach regional job evaluation representatives in such a way that they are able to handle job evaluation requests and projects.
• You organize and facilitate periodic job evaluation meetings, create an adequate feedback loop and ensures a global alignment of job evaluation outcomes in AkzoNobel.
• Finally, you create insights and processes these into adequate management information tools for stakeholders involved.

• The Job Evaluation Manager contributes  to developing organization design related policies, tools and methods.
• You partner with the HR BP’s and the Business/Functional LT’s to identify, analyze and manage complex organizational design challenges by the use of the right OD tools and methods.

• Analyze the effectiveness of the global rewards processes and advises about improvement needs and possibilities from a JE/OD perspective. Support the global rewards team on the respective areas with strong linkages to Job Evaluation and Organization Design, including:
o External benchmark activities.
o Management of misalignments and
o Possible cost impact

Rewards tooling
• You ensure a solid process is in place to evaluate positions and you capture the JE relevant data in SF
• Development and implementation of innovative tools and methods to properly manage, monitor and analyze Job Evaluation related information (analyze-, framework-, plotting-, benchmark and calculation dashboards) which:
o Provides HR insights about complex organizational design projects.
o Enables strong linkages with other tools and data in order to facilitate the business decision making process.


What do you bring?

The ideal candidate:
• Has an academic working and thinking level.
• Proven track record in job evaluation, incl. solid understanding of job evaluation methodologies such as job evaluation methods from Korn Ferry Hay Group, Mercer and/or WTW.
• Understands the global operating model and has a sound knowledge level of relevant:
o HR and remuneration disciplines.
o Business processes.
o OD/Change management
• Excellent consultancy skills and is:
o An excellent communicator, shares knowledge and operates effectively within international, multidisciplinary teams in a strong matrix organization.
o Customer orientated and solution focused (is a decision maker and knows to handle with complex problems).

• Has a clear vision of reward management and knows how to innovate. Promotes the vision and strategy of the remuneration policy to relevant counterparts within the global organization.
• Deals effectively with demanding internal clients or complex and less obvious situations.
• Anticipates effectively at problems that affect the success of the global remuneration discipline.
