Investor Relations Manager

The AkzoNobel Investor Relations department (‘AIR’) is responsible for managing relationships with investors. 

The primary objectives are to ensure that both current and potential investors are sufficiently well informed to appropriately value AkzoNobel shares and to provide management with timely and objective feedback from the investment community.

Key activities:

  • Messages: development of appropriate key messages for target audiences, in close co-operation with Communications and management. This is based on regular, daily interaction with the investors as well as objective, independent feedback.
  • Audiences: manages relationships with key stakeholders, including investors and analysts, as well as rating agencies (in co-operation with Treasury). This involves communicating with contacts in all major global financial centers.
  • Annual program of events: conduct program of events including Quarterly Results, roadshows, conferences, and Capital Markets Day(s), AGMs/EGMs. Meetings with investors (bilateral and group) are held to ensure that the investment community receives a balanced and complete view of the AkzoNobel strategy and performance as well as key issues.


Internally AIR works closely with the Executive Committee, Communications, Finance, Strategy/MIPS, Legal and other contacts within the AkzoNobel businesses. Externally AIR works with a range of specialist advisers as well as investment banks in addition to its target audiences of investors and analysts.

The department also oversees AkzoNobel relationships with stock exchanges and the ADR (American Depository Receipt) program.
 

The purpose of the job

  1. Communicate effectively with both current and potential investors and analysts;
  2. Provide management with timely and objective feedback from the investment community;
  3. Prepare external and internal presentation materials;
  4. Synthesize financial and business information.


Job context:

  • Reports to Head of Investor Relations;
  • Works closely with the Executive Committee, Communications, Finance, Strategy/MIPS, Legal and other contacts within the AkzoNobel businesses;
  • Works with a range of specialist advisers as well as investment banks in addition to its target audiences of investors and analysts (as appropriate).


Job content:

  • Act as a Group spokesperson;
  • Hold investor meetings and attend roadshows, conferences and other events;
  • Conduct questions/issue related analysis;
  • Prepare external and internal presentation materials.

Who are we looking for?

Education    

  • Finance/Accounting or Business Administration degree (Bachelors/Masters)


Competence and Experience    

  • Strong IT skills, including PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills;
  • Strong financial and analytical skills;
  • Previous roles in Finance or Strategy;
  • Knowledge of Chemical and Coatings industry;
  • Awareness of financial markets and regulation;
  • Comfortable dealing with senior and important stakeholders.
