At AkzoNobel, digital channels play a vital role in shaping and strengthening our brand reputation. From social media and website content to digital campaigns and employee advocacy, we use these platforms to tell our story and connect with key audiences around the world.
We’re looking for a motivated intern to join our Digital Communications team, reporting directly to the Digital Media Manager. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in reputation management across a variety of digital platforms.
In this role, you will contribute to the strategy, planning, and execution of AkzoNobel’s digital communications. Your work will span social media, web content, internal communications, and digital campaigns, while also providing support to the media relations team. The goal? To help enhance our digital presence and ensure we’re engaging effectively with our audiences.
Key Objective:
Support the growth of AkzoNobel’s digital audiences and increase engagement by leveraging data-driven insights, monitoring performance, and creating compelling, high-quality content.
Start Date: Can be flexible for the right candidate but ideally we would like our successful Intern to start in August or Septemner 2025.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Digital Communications team with the planning and execution of content across both external and internal digital channels.
- Help manage and optimize content through our digital tools, including Sprinklr (social media) and Adobe Experience Manager (website).
- Maintain and update the content calendar using Trello to ensure timely and coordinated publishing across platforms.
- Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to develop fresh ideas for content and campaigns.
- Support in the creation and editing of visual content—such as images and videos—for use on social media, internal platforms, and the company website.
- Assist in community management by engaging with audiences and monitoring conversations across our digital channels.
- Contribute to performance tracking by monitoring and reporting on key metrics for internal communications, social media, and website activity using tools like Sprinklr and Google Analytics.
- Stay up to date with the latest digital trends and industry activity, using insights to help develop innovative content ideas and improve channel performance.
What do you need to have to be successful in this internship?
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Communications, Marketing, Media, or a related field.
- Strong interest in digital strategy, content creation, communications, and media relations.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and other visual editing tools; hands-on experience is a plus.
- Experience with digital content management and monitoring platforms (e.g., Sprinklr, Meltwater) is an advantage.
- Enthusiastic about learning planning and project management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with data—able to analyze metrics and derive actionable insights.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a flair for visual storytelling and content design.
- Curious and knowledgeable about digital innovation, technology, and emerging social media trends.
- Creative, service-oriented, and proactive in taking initiative.
- Fluency in English is required
