Lets paint a picture of the role:
Social media plays a crucial role for AkzoNobel. Once considered a mere convenience, it has evolved into one of our most powerful platforms for sharing AkzoNobel's stories, both through our own channels and via employee advocacy.
Reporting to the Digital Media Manager, this role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in reputation management through social media. You'll be involved in strategizing, planning, and managing AkzoNobel’s social media channels, as well as supporting the media relations team. The focus is on optimizing our digital communications to effectively engage key stakeholders and enhance AkzoNobel's reputation.
You will work within the global social media and public relations team, which is dedicated to building, promoting, and protecting AkzoNobel's reputation across traditional and social media. This is done in collaboration with communication managers from various business units and regions.
Start Date: 1st Feburary 2025
Key Objective: To expand our audience and increase engagement on AkzoNobel’s social media channels through data analysis, monitoring, and the creation of compelling content.
Responsibilities:
- Support the social media manager in planning and execution of content for external channels.
- Maintaining and optimizing our content management tool for social media and website (Sprinklr and AEM)
- Developing and managing our content calendar (Trello)
- Take part in brainstorming sessions for new content and campaigns
- Creating and editing images and video content for social media
- Support with Community management and social media listening
- Support with monitoring, tracking, and reporting on (social) media metrics (Using Sprinklr and Meltwater).
- To keep a close eye on digital trends and competition to translate this to innovative concepts for our channels
What do you need to be successful in this role?
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s/master’s degree in communications, marketing, or similar.
- High level of interest in digital strategy, content strategy, communications, and media relations
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and other visual editing tools is a plus.
- Experience with content management and monitoring tools such as Sprinklr and Meltwater is a plus.
- Eagerness to learn planning and project management skills.
- Eagerness to work with data, analyze data and pull out insights.
- Excellent verbal, writing, designing, and planning skills.
- Knowledge and curiosity to all matters related to digital/technology and social media trends is a plus
- Fluent in English.
- Creative thinker, Service-minded and proactive.
