Job Purpose

As part of AkzoNobel Global sourcing organization, we are developing capabilities in Sourcing Tender Management, Inbound supply chain analytics through artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. This role, Global Sourcing Tender Manager will be leading these activities as part of global cross category sourcing. This role could be based in either Amsterdam, The Netherlands or Pune, India. In this team you will work with various global and regional vendors, internal stakeholders like Category Sourcing directors, Supply chain directors and various digital interfaces. 

This position has accountability to design and execute digital enablement of the sourcing organization using various tools and systems. This includes systems like SAP, Coupa, Icertis, Business Warehouse. This role works as a Center of Excellence for Sourcing tenders which include RFI, RFQ, RFP and reverse auctions + building and running advanced analytics. 

Hands on working experience in Coupa, AI, supply network design principles are essential. 


Design, develop, implement artificial intelligence driven improvement on Sourcing solutions as part of procurement function roadmap.  

  • Subject matter expert in (Coupa) tender process management including creation of right templates, training, implement and execute all tender related solution.
  • Acting as key user and focal point for Sourcing-tender activities
  • Use artificial intelligence solutions to continuously improve the tender platform linked to any required data option available in AkzoNobel (SAP, BI, SAP-IBP, HANA & other systems)
  • Acting as interface of procurement on Tender efficiency to all any internal stakeholder required
  • Act as interface to various functionaries within Sourcing/procurement
  • Be responsible for setting-up an affective tail spend management AI driven process to best capture benefit of 100M spend and derive structural tangible benefits
  • Developing continues improvement and (digital) training materials on sourcing tender efficiency in conjunction with Coupa experts



Qualifications/ Education:

  • Graduate in Economics/Econometry/Business analytics
  • Relevant work experience, preferably in econometrics in procurement or financial related context
  • Must possess hands on experience of using tender process, change management

  • Good communication, presenting and interpersonal skills, problem solving, project management, team working/building, ability to work under minimal supervision with broad direction. Ability to work as a Continuous Improvement Lead.
  • Work with different business interests, understand and be able to establish common ground in the organization.

Functional Skills

  • Artificial Intelligence understanding
  • Skills on multiple data platforms such as SAP, BI
  • Strong analytical skills: highly numerate, structured and accurate.
  • Ability to perform, understand and present detailed information analysis and evaluation
  • Flexible and agile, stress resistant
  • Fluent in English
  • Interest in international business culture.
