In short
The Global Procurement Risk Manager will identify procurement-related risks to minimize disruptions in production and maintain supply continuity for AkzoNobel customers. Responsibilities include collaborating with procurement teams to develop risk mitigation strategies, fostering cross-functional relationships, and delivering risk management programs to achieve excellence in supplier risk management. Additionally, the Global Procurement Risk Manager will monitor and track risk management activities, stay up-to-date on industry trends, and prepare regular updates to senior management.
Key responsibilities
As our Global Procurement Risk Manager your responsibilities involves the following key steps:
- Defining and agreeing on the procurement-related risk strategy and objectives
- Regularly mapping procurement-related risk areas and identifying specific risks
- Developing and implementing a Supplier Risk Framework aligned with Sustainability and ERM Frameworks
- Owning and maintaining the risk register for materials, suppliers, specifications, regulations, and financials
- Creating awareness of risk amongst procurement teams and adjacent functions to ensure effective due diligence
- Prioritizing identified risks and implementing measures to prevent or minimize their impact, while ensuring alignment with the business
Other key steps include implementing risk initiatives, regularly checking the effectiveness of measures, preparing quarterly risk updates, facilitating lessons learned, and working in accordance with AkzoNobel's processes and values. The Procurement Risk and Sustainability Manager is the main owner of this process.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate for the role of Global Procurement Risk Manager should possess a combination of functional expertise and soft skills that are essential for success in this position. The following job requirements are necessary:
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to various audiences.
- Self-propelling attitude with strong initiative and ability to take ownership of tasks and projects.
- Highly flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
- Fluent in English, with excellent proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.
- Multiple years of experience in risk management and relevant supporting tools, with a strong understanding of procurement-related risks and mitigation strategies.
- Strong influencing skills and tenacity to get the job done, with the ability to build relationships, persuade and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
