The Global Learning & Development Advisor will be responsible for the development and embedding a learning curriculum on a world-wide level across all levels of the functional organization in scope and in line with the relevant functional and HR Strategy and business objectives. The Global Learning & Development Advisor is member of the global CoE T&D.
Within this context, your mission in this role is to determine the learning needs of our employees throughout the AkzoNobel and to define the learning solutions to address these needs. Given the wide-ranging responsibilities of the role it is essential that your affinity for this area is backed up by a Bachelor or Master in this area (Educational Science, L&D or similar.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

Support functional competency frameworks: 

 

  • Contribute to the development of the functional capability frameworks and ensure alignment with other functions;
  • Coordinate and drive annual review and update with the relevant functional stakeholders in the business;
  • Support initiatives to promote the use of the functional frameworks in scope.

 

Design, development, delivery and maintenance of functional curricula and training programs:

 

  • Align with the curriculum owners and program stakeholders the functional learning needs with the strategic purpose and context and determine priorities;
  • Facilitate and advice on the design and development of global functional curricula; 
  • Ensure the functional training curricula supports the AkzoNobel / functional cultural and organizational behavior development needs;
  • Work together with the admin support team to make learning activities available in the learning management system (SuccessFactors).

 

Evaluation of learning offering and improvements according to quality standards:

 

  • Evaluate programs according to the KirkPatrick New World model (level 1 to 4);
  • Establish key performance metrics to measure curricula and program effectiveness and impact; report on evaluation results and suggest improvements;
  • Monitor the performance of training resources during delivery to ensure quality and to take corrective actions where necessary;
  • Benchmark the functional curriculum to ensure quality and competitive advantage.

 

Development and maintenance L&D processes and expertise:

 

  • Work with global and regional L&D peers to ensure full alignment with the overall AkzoNobel Learning & Development strategy and to define standard L&D processes, tools and templates;
  • Contribute to the development of the global L&D processes, tools and templates;
  • Ensure effective utilization and continuous improvement of the global L&D processes, tools and templates.

 

Stakeholder management and communication:

 

  • Build strong collaborative and supportive relationships with functional sponsor, curriculum owners and program stakeholders and demonstrate good stakeholder management;
  • Develop effective communications to inform, involve the business and to promote the functional learning programs. and the required Learning Culture.
  • Budget planning & cost control:
  • Define with the functional curriculum owners the yearly training development and delivery plan including budget;
  • Create business cases, including best practices for programs.

Experience

 

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Educational Science, L&D or similar and at least 3 years of experience in an L&D role at both a strategic and operational level;
  • Extensive proven experience in training design, development and delivery, including L&D projects that impacted more than one country/region;
  • Experience in doing learning needs analysis and mapping existing learning offerings to competencies;
  • Proven experience in the delivery of programs;
  • Expertise/experience or experience with functional curricula is a plus
  • Experience to facilitate, coach and effectively deliver (F2F as well virtual) training is a plus;
  • Up-to-date with developments, best practices and requirement in the area of L&D techniques on a global functional level;
  • Able to professionally represent our company values by working inclusively to make sure the business experiences ‘one voice’ and meets collective objectives;
  • The strong communication, interpersonal, presentational and negotiating skills necessary to work at all levels or our organization, including fluent written and spoken English.
