Join AkzoNobel, a global leader in coatings, as our next Global IT Delivery Controller. In this dynamic role, you will be the go-to finance expert for the Head of IT Application Delivery and the Head of IT Business Partners and be a member of their respective functional leadership teams.  Reporting directly to the Head of Functional Control, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to provide comprehensive financial oversight, deliver insightful performance analysis, and support the IT delivery leadership. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership: 

  • Work closely together with IT delivery teams to define goals and translate them into tangible financial plans. 
  • Oversee and monitor project progress, track expenditures, ensuring strict adherence to budgets and strategic alignment. 

Data-Driven Insights: 

  • Conduct thorough analyses of financial performance on a monthly, quarterly, annual and adhoc basis, translating complex data into actionable insights to inform strategic decision-making. 
  • Identify and evaluate financial risks and opportunities, guiding the organization towards optimal outcomes. 

Performance Enhancement & Transformation Catalyst: 

  • Actively drive harmonization, standardization, and process automation, driving efficiency gains and continuous improvements in end-to-end processes within the Functional Control team. 
  • Support the IT delivery team in their transition to full Agile way of working 

Financial Liaison: 

  • Serve as a vital link between IT delivery teams and the finance function, ensuring seamless communication and accurate financial reporting. 
  • Navigate complex financial landscapes, reviewing and ensuring the proper recognition of intricate financial matters in group reporting. 

Strategic Governance: 

  • Provide impartial governance and control of company processes and policies, safeguarding AkzoNobel's interests and ensuring compliance and support of internal control process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. 
  • Strong grasp of project management principles and methodologies, particularly in complex and dynamic environments. 
  • Proficiency in financial management tools and software, such as Microsoft Excel, SAP, or equivalent. 
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders. 
  • Familiarity with IT projects and investments is advantageous. 
  • Fluency in English.
