The Center of Expertise (CoE) for Commercial Finance serves as a launching pad for financial and commercial talent. The Global Functional Controller for Sales and Marketing (S&M) has three main objectives:
1)    To be the Business Partner or Finance Navigator of the Central S&M Teams.
2)    To support S&M (finance) colleagues of AkzoNobel through advice or guidance wherever needed.
3)    To deliver process, systems, or people improvements projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Act as a Business Partner or Finance Navigator for the Central Sales and Marketing (S&M) Teams.

• Manage the financials of 7 central S&M groups, including the Marketing Management Program team, the Paints Global Marketing and Color team, the Digital (Marketing) Team, and the Marketing Excellence team.
• Collaborate with the teams to set budgets, forecast advertising and promotion (A&P) expenses and full-time equivalents (FTEs), and ensure cost control.
   

2. Provide support and guidance to S&M colleagues. Assist Business Units (BUs) in developing Approval Requests (AR) for Restructuring-programs.
    
3. Support the Sales Organization in maintaining and utilizing the BU Request for Approval (RFA) Tool.
    
4. Keep track of centrally driven S&M projects using the ANT Tool.
    
5. Lead process, systems, or people improvement projects.

• Contribute to the AkzoNobel 'Fast Forward Finance' (3F) program, which aims to harmonize systems and processes across the organization.
• Drive projects focused on standardizing financial management of color materials throughout the organization.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for candidates who possess the following competencies and skills:

Competencies:

• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Hold a university degree in Economics or equivalent. An MBA or a chartered controller/accountant degree is considered a plus.
• Demonstrate an interest in working collaboratively with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
• Have at least 10 years of working experience in various financial functions.
• Possess a solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Previous experience in project management.
• Exhibit commercial sensitivity and affinity.

Skills:

• Demonstrate a results-driven mindset, with a hands-on approach and strong analytical skills.
• Capable of overseeing the big picture while also understanding the finer details.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as a team player in complex-matrix organizational structures and in cross-functional teams.
• Skilled in structuring and standardizing high volumes of activities.
• Proven as a self-starter, problem solver, and implementer.
• Maintain a "building" and positive mentality.
