Purpose of the job

The Global Category Manager will be responsible for negotiation and oversight of provider contract(s) and is responsible for the BPO/ITO programs’ success. This position is responsible for the strategy, negotiation and execution of contracts within the scope of Enterprise Services category.

What do you bring?

- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in   Finance, IM or Procurement related area, Business or Engineering-related fields. MBA is preferred.
- 10+ years relevant work experience in contract/SLA management, negotiations, working with both captive and outsourcing providers, project management.
- Experience and process knowledge of: Finance and accounting, Procurement, HR, IM (infrastructure and applications) and other business support functions in a multinational environment with deep understanding of both supplier and client challenges and motivators.
- Experience with licensing SAP, Microsoft etc. is preferred
- Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken
- Legal background or relevant experience is preferred


Key responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate with AN Legal and the IM and IMGBS organizations to negotiate commercials with BPO/ITO providers and other Services, and escalate to senior IM (GBS) and/or AN leadership, including CxO level, as needed.
• Collect knowledge on the contract and how the contractual agreements are treated by various parties. Act as the authority on the contract and liaise with various stakeholders on how to best apply the contract in AkzoNobel’s best interest.
• Manage the changes to contract, related documents and ensure all commitments and opportunities related to the contract are adhered to and applied.
• Review all requests for services to providers and determine the contractual impact and settlement.
• Periodic review and evaluation of the contract with various stakeholders (Legal, GBS, IM, Internal Customers, Finance and Providers).
• Conduct contract strategy meetings to identify issues and client requirements, facilitate pricing discussions, and obtain senior management input on timelines and deliverables
• Support the continuous improvement process with insights and suggestions to improve the relationship and performance of the service providers
• Support with monitoring the performance of the providers according to contract and SLA’s, and ensure the contractually agreed measures are taken based on the actual performance as delivered
• Provide guidance and support when required to AkzoNobel employees in communications / interactions with providers to reflect contractual agreements.
• Research cost drivers and conduct industry analysis for the development of negotiation strategy and tactical/strategic vendor plans
• Create and execute a service integration and management (SIAM) capability for AkzoNobel, ensuring cross-provider integration and cooperation, as well as a standard set of tools and techniques for providing data-driven and leveraged oversight.
